Asked this in another thread but didn't get a reply so I'll ask again here.

My question is. I don't have an away membership and it cost $12 for concession. But I got tickets for Anzac Day as a home member for $13 as a concession as well. Why does it cost more as a non-member? I'm not sitting on the bottom deck. I'm up top again.

Thanks guys.

Was the $12 bought on match day? There are extra charges to reserve the tickets. The Anzac game this year is an Essendon home game so by rights that shouldn't cost you anything. The $13 goes fully to Ticketek.

There you go, I've had a crack at it.

So if I walked up to our home game against the Hawks, I'd get in for free?

Yes.

But you have to be prepared that the game could well be a sell out or at best you'd have quite poor seats.

I went with my cousins last year (v Bris @ TD) who were members and you have to go to a ticket booth to get your seat allocated. You're just not paying for the 'service' and I use the term loosely, that ticketmaster provides.

The best games to walk up for 'free' would be the MCG games, especially against Brisbane in round 19.

If the game was at the MCG then yes, but i'm pretty sure the game is at the Dome.

Every Essendon home game that is at the TD is a reserved seat event. You can walk into those games for free but you'll be standing.
MCG is a safe beat since you'll be able to go and sit in GA.

Ticketmaster is the biggest whore of money. They have changed it this year that even if you go to the booth on match day you will still need to pay to have your seat reserved. I hate ticketmaster and wish there was more of a deal made up in the papers or with the afl. The afl could EASILY set up their own system of ticket sales on their website, use an 'ezyticket' formula and make a bucketload charging 3-4 bucks a ticket.

Well either way, if you bought Ticketek AFL tickets early you would've been able to get tickets cheap due to the flaws in their system still

Member Tickets for $2.20 :) to the Anzac Day match
as a non member.

haha

I'm assuming you're comparing the prices to the Carlton game so the only thing I can think of is that you sat in a GA section at the Carlton game and your ticket for anzac day is a reserved seat which means you pay a booking fee.:thumbsu:
