Competitions 2024 Fantasy questions (Oppo supporters post in here)

It's been filtering into other threads so here's a place to ask questions for Essendon players for your various games. My initial thoughts for players I'd consider:

Parish: Good for Fantasy, not great for SC IMO.

Merrett: Always a good premium option. Durable, consistent scorer.

Ridley: Another consistent scorer.

Perkins: Could be a sneaky option as a mid priced given he's likely to play more midfield this year.

Reid: Having a good pre season, high draft pick, rookie pricing.

Martin: Him going back will provide great scoring potential

Feel free to ask on anyone else really

IMO:

  • Merrett & Parish should be pretty similar to past seasons, in that top group of midfielders. No reason their scoring should decline.
  • Martin could be a good pickup in draft leagues as he's likely to get DEF DPP, and if he's got the Daicos / Sheezel loose HBF role, he'll score pretty well for salary cap too.
  • Martin scoring well could impact guys in the backline like McGrath, Ridley and Redman.
  • We've got a lot of awkwardly priced guys who could be draft options but might not have the upside for salary cap; Setterfield, Hobbs, Duursma, Caldwell, Durham, Perkins.
  • We don't have too many genuine rookie options given most of ours have already played some games and aren't cheap cheap. Reid, Caddy, and J Davey are the one's most likely to earn cash but may not get enough regular game-time to do so.

I've gone with Tsatas in SC - he's selectable as a forward, hoping he snags a few games at AFL level, perhaps on a wing.

Trying to take off the rose coloured glasses this year and not have too many Dons players.

Gonna bump this onto the first page.

I would also not have Sam Draper as a ruck as he will almost certainly be sharing it with either Goldstein or Bryan
