Speaking to Mitch on the phone and read this out.. He said

"Yeah i've been dominating"

Ask Mitch a question right now if you want!

yeah pretty stock standard there Bib, thanks btw!

Agree on Robinson playing Midfield, not so sure on Davies.

Hibberd is now sort of excess to our needs and I don't know how I'd go about cheering a guy called Pederson ("GO PEDO!")

Jamo is a no brainer and fingers crossed for Aussie

One final word, DUUUUUUUUUUUIIIIIIIGGGGGGGGGAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for sharing. :thumbsu:
Some great news there particularly about Kreuz, Duigan and Austin.
I don't think there'd be any complaints about Jamo becoming captain at some point.

- Kreuzer tracking really well, and almost 2 weeks ahead of schedule.
- Rhys O'Keeffe 100% in rookie draft, but may have to take him with our first or second pick, as a few interstate sides like what they see.
- Mitch Robinson one of, if not the standout on the track, and will be played as a midfielder next year.
- Eyeing a few older VFL boys in the rookie draft. Will only take 1, but only if one of the 4 or 5 we want is still available. One being Hibberd, another being Pederson.
- Marcus Davies will play a fair bit through the midfield next year.
- Duigan on fire at training. Exceeded expectations by a long way.
- The general concensus on here is that one of the No. 1's will probably take over the reigns as captain after Juddy.. well thoughts at the club suggest that #40 is the man.
- Austin looking great, and club wants him in the team from Rd 1, all season.

Hearing that about Austin makes me want to go and drink, gamble, flirt with glamorous scantily clad women, eat a lobster stuffed with tacos, gamble and drink some more, and bed aforementioned glamorous scantily clad women. :thumbsu:

haha nice work 000...he also had a great 2009/2010 preseason, so lets hope he's not burning himself out

12:44pm Me - Do you think going too hard during pre season will **** you up for the actual season?

12:45pm Mitch - should be fine, weighing 88kg's so see how it goes.. getting the tank bigger for midfield role next year, bigger and stronger. havent missed a session, feeling good

12:46pm Me - Out of 10, how cute is your butt

12:46pm Mitch - possibly a 9, freshly shaved of course

There is an unwritten gentlemen's agreement that has snuck into AFL drafting, whereby teams will not touch another team's players that they are intending to pick back up at the same level, when they were only delisted because of injury.

If another team wanted ROK, then the national draft or the PSD is the place to get him as at least he will be on a senior list still. Getting him with a rookie pick ahead of us does him no good as he is still a rookie and he has to leave his mates. If we are 100% picking him up again, get the word out to the other clubs, and they should leave him alone.

Carlton can take MO'keeffe with our last pick in the rookie draft if he wants in.

The Blues did this with Jacobs after the other clubs passed on him in the national draft.

2008 rookie draft

Midfield setup looking interesting next year

Walks has been promised time there, Gibbs wants more time there, Davies is being groomed as a midfielder as is Mitch

Although expecting Davies to remain fringe, with Walks & Mitch round the 15 - 22 game mark, who's going to miss out?

With bigger bodies like Davies & "hard at it" players like Mitch, looks like the club is trying to fill that "hard nut" midfield crevice

Will be interesting to see how Austin goes next year - BIB, they wanting him to fill the CHB position?

Just not sure as to which of those tidbits I like best BIB.
I like the Davies rumour.

A poster/scout on another Carlton site thinks Davies will be a wrecking ball and hurt people down the track. I think Davies can play midfield and be a run with player after he ran a 15.1 beep at draft camp. Davies needs to improve his disposal, but he is a great tackler and a powerful player after he stopped Martin and Isaac Smith who tried to fend him off.

Our midfield needs players who can make a tackle stick.

I know you can nominate third year rookies, but coming from the senior list, I am unsure if this applies to ROK. Hopefully we can use our last pick though. Would be a shame to get bumped down the selection order to pick up a player we already had.

Not sure about Jamison. I think he is one of the most overrated players in our team, since his first season.

He might not even be on the list in 3 years' time.

you managed to get your hands on the first interview he did after rd1 2009?

the person who put it up got rid of their channel

Our side in a few years time should look like this if all the position changes work out

FB: Russell, Jamison, **Take your pick**
HB: Bower, Watson, McCarthy
C: Lucas, Gibbs, Murphy
HF: Waite, Henderson, Walker
FF: Garlett, Mitchell, Betts
R: Kreuzer, Judd, McLean
IC: Warnock, Buckley, Simpson, Yarran*

I've probably made a massive ommission somewhere there and the backline's a tad tall, but that's still a damn good side!

I guess some aren't easily impressed with Jack Riewoldt and Fevola kicking a total of just six goals on Jamison in three games.

Jamison was filthy at Riewoldt kicking on goal on Bower after he went to the bench.

:thumbsu:

Add Jamison to the clause that if you don't rate Bower, then you're not worth listening to.

Lloyd rates Jamison as one of the best spoilers going round.

Armfield says hello.

Pretty sure we can pre_list MK and use our last pick on him. Not sure where you are getting your info.

Some people have sweet f*** all knowledge of football and only go by a stat sheet.
Ideally he'd provide more drive out of the backline that a Scarlett may but give me a backline of dour stoppers any day over a bunch of Drummond/Shaw types.

Armfield says hello.

I know he does...I really would like to see him take Carrazzo's tagging role though, there's been quite a few instances where Armfield has been breaking the lines further up the ground and hit targets superbly or just used his pace to bamboozle the opposition's defense, think back to match where Fev hit the post against the Hawks and who set up that shot.

So if Armfield does secure a spot in midfield, I'd expect one of Duigan, Joseph, Davies, Tuohy, Dare, ROK, Buckley etc etc etc to take that position

The rookie rules are difficult to find these days. The AFL site keeps removing things and moving them around.

Pity, because I like to have these reference sources on hand.

Is there a rule about senior listed player automatically being allowed to go on the rookie list if not picked up in the national draft?

Different to the Jacobs situation because he was already a rookie.

Mate, I'm a Davies fan also, but just think that Duigan and possibly Laidler may have usurped him for a back position.
How well would he serve us in the middle? Only one way of finding out.
Duigan might give us more than Browne in the next two years, yet I won't believe the hype until we've seen him kick a ball in anger.

I'd have them as

Laidler
Davies
Duigan
