Sure your team was different from ours but the process you followed was similar to ours, and your end result was balanced. The equal consideration of posting and stats was evident. The provided comments were really helpful too. It's no surprise that a couple of other teams agreed with your team.

I used to be in favour of this when the league and committee were more active. I still am in principle. It’s just harder to justify right now.

Well, I’m back in the committee for the first time in years and so far it’s significantly quieter /slower/less engaged there than it was last time.

That isn’t a criticism. It’s a reflection of where the league is at and a reflection of how many people have much bigger priorities and less time to spare again post pandemic .

That time spent doing an extra team could be spent doing other things that the league needs more
eg Working hard to address the concerning rookie numbers and engagement /activity

Fair enough point, I'd argue separating stats and posting would make it easier, I'd also try and argue that separating the two could help engagement.

As someone who spends far too long on this process most seasons, I don’t think it would make it easier. It would simply be twice as much work. Plus it’s the only league award that combines both. But many BnFs also combine both. At some point many years before my time, it was stats only so if it was ever split I think the stats team would (rightfully) be the more prestigious one.
