So far the best sportsman in the world right now it is ridiculous.

How can someone not play for 2-3 months with a dodgy knee and front up and win on that course?

Unbelievable.

He can become our goalkicking coach any day. He has nerves of steel and a perfect putting technique. Imagine employing that sort of technique when lining up for goal. You'd never miss when it counted.

Also, did anyone notice on one of the play-off holes he copied;) the patented Matthew Lloyd grass throwing method to test the wind direction and strength?

Out for the rest of the season with a ACL reconstruction and multiple stress fractures in his knee.

Unbelievable.

You've never shot a tournament-winning score against the best players in the world on the longest course in Open history with a stuffed knee and 2 fractures of the tibia?

Hack.

Probably the best sportsperson I will ever see. He is ridiculous.

He is more dominant than Michael Jordan and that is saying something.

No way in hell is he more dominant than Jordan. Woods plays golf. Hardly the most taxing sport in the world. If people are marvelling at him being able to play with an acl then what does that say about Thommos and Bradshaws recovery.

As Roger Federer says, if he could play only on grass just like Tiger Woods, he would be the greatest sportsman in the world.

You live under a cave or something?

Did you watch any of it?

He was in pain, wasn't 100% right.

Sorry if you mistook the "did it on one leg line" though it would have been kinda easy to see where i was going..

I saw updates on Fox Sports.

He is a golfer for a start. Nobody was asking him to play a game of aussie rules. He uses a stick that that hits a ball and hopefully it goes in the hole.

Paint drying > Grass growing > Green Card (the movie) > Golf

Need to be abl to twist you lower body, which i believe would be preety hard to do with a sore knee.

DR, Tiger woods is goin in to have a knee reco, going to show he pretty much played on one leg.

What a superstar.

A superstar of what? He plays golf for a living.

I cant believe people can actually get excited about a little white ball falling into a hole.

I agree it is not the most exciting sport, but its not bloody easy mate.

He has one 14 majors already, he cannot be beaten. Even with a biggered knee.

Tiger Woods is a Sporting legend mate, got to give him that atleast, even if you hate the sport.

Its his standing in the game you have to consider. Jordan has been by far the most influential sportsman I have ever seen. But Tiger is that far ahead of the next best golfer at the moment it is ridiculous. I don't think people are going to be tuning in to watch man-boobs Mickelson in the next few months. Basketball was lucky enough to have some other superstars going around at the same time in Bird, Magic, Shaq etc.

Add two tibia stress fractures to the torn ACL, and that he played 19 playoff holes on top of the four rounds. That is absurd. He isn't human.

It's only a matter of opinion, but he's the greatest athlete I've ever seen. Ticks every single box and then some.

And even if you don't like the sport, at least appreciate how difficult it is, the sort of mental strength it requires at the top level and the miniscule margin for error every shot presents. Think of how many people play it and what percentage ever turn out good enough to be a pro. To dominate like Tiger does is phenomenal, perhaps more than any other sport.

1) What has Jordan achieved that Woods hasn't in comparable terms?

2) He played with a torn ACL and two stress fractures. Every swing Tiger makes puts pressure on the knees. What do Thommo and Bradshaw's respective recoveries have to do with it? Neither played with the injury.

3) I have a feeling you just hate golf and hence refuse to give due credit. That's fine, a lot of people do. They equate golf at the highest level to having a hit at the local course before retiring to the 19th.

Since when are golfers athletes? You might as well call Lawn bowlers and Dart players athletes then.

You can say that about any sport. And golf probably has alot more pro golfers than you think. There are more pros out there than just those on the card at the American dominated PGA tour.

Here is a little tidbit about Jordan if you think playing golf with a sore leg is phenomenal.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Game 5, often referred to as "The Flu Game", was one of Michael Jordan's most memorable. Just 24 hours earlier, on June 10, 1997, Michael Jordan woke up nauseated and sweating profusely. He hardly had the strength to sit up in bed and was diagnosed with a stomach virus or food poisoning. The Bulls trainers told Jordan that there was no way he could play in the game. The Jazz had just won two in a row to tie the series, and Chicago needed their leader in this critical swing game. Against all odds, Jordan rose from bed at 3:00 p.m., just in time for the 6:00 tip-off at the Delta Center.
Jordan was visibly weak and pale as he stepped onto the court for Game Five. At first, he displayed no energy whatsoever, and John Stockton, along with reigning MVP Karl Malone, quickly led the Jazz to a 16-point lead. But in the second quarter, Jordan started to sink shots despite lacking his usual explosive speed and hardly being able to concentrate. He scored 17 points in the quarter as the Bulls hit the front with a furious rally before halftime. The Jazz though reclaimed their lead and pushed it to 8 points early in the fourth quarter. But the Bulls went on a 10-0 run to take the lead again and the game would remain tight the rest of the way.
Luc Longley and Scottie Pippen did their best to keep the Bulls in the game while Jordan was fatigued again in the third. But Jordan turned it on again, scoring 15 points in the fourth quarter. With less than a minute to go he was at the free throw line, he made the first but missed the second. But the Bulls got the offensive rebound and Jordan swished a three-point shot to put the Bulls up by three points with under a minute left. Chicago then withstood a late Utah push and held on for a narrow victory when John Stockton missed the first of two free throws in front of the stunned crowd with an exhausted sweat-soaked Jordan briefly throwing two fists into the air as the buzzer sound.
Jordan finished the game with 38 points, seven rebounds, five assists, three steals and one block. Malone was the highest-scoring Jazz player with 19 points but suffered from some dreadful shooting, throwing up an off balance airball on the possession prior to Jordan's big 3. Malone would finish the second half 1 for 6 from the field. Jordan stayed on the court for 44 minutes, resting for only four minutes while being perpetually at the brink of fainting. With only a few seconds remaining and the game finally at hand, Jordan collapsed into Scottie Pippen's arms.
