Can someone please tell me whose stupid idea it was to ruin the greatest theme song in the competition by muting the YELLOW and BLACK part of the song after we win a game. It's the best part of our song and it sounded stupid last night after we beat those Essendon hacks

They did it for the Carlton game too. It just ruins it ffs. We need someone high up to let the MCG know that it sounds crap.

I like it, the "yellow and black" part is meant to be shouted by the team/supporters not by some generic AFL theme song singer.

You've always been able to hear the fans shout "yellow and black". I agree with the majority that it sounds ridiculous muted. We should all let the club know that we're not happy with this practice.

Ive never heard the Lets Play Footy thing....sounds pretty gay though..

but the muting of the yellow and black part is bloody awesome, i cant wait till im down in melbourne and the tigers hopefully win..

Na, disagree. If it wasn't for this valuable service I would have had no idea that it was quarter time, or what the scores were, who the goalkickers were, or that i was even at the football. It improves my experience so much being told via loudspeaker what is right in front of my eyes - i have trouble sometimes...

Heard that for the first time on radio last night and thought it was their doing. Didn't like it at all.
You can hear our supporters over the song anyway so why is there a need to mute it?

this happened during our round 1 win too..its a new initiative this year
at least it aint as bad as the west coast song..if you want a real laugh listen to their song which actually has CROWD SOUND FX PUT INTO IT

no joke..i remember last year or the year before a game here when we played them and i heard that and i just couldnt stop laughing cos there was about 1000 eagles fans there and they clearly werent making the noise!!

the whole muting thing doesnt make that much of a difference to me i mean we all shout out yellow and black so loud that it makes up for it anyway

Good call - it gives me the absolute Jimmy Brits that those blokes at the G and the Dome don't stop blabbing, telling every bleeding obvious thing that's happening. The LET'S PLAY FOOTY thing is the final part of some ridiculous theory that they need to build the atmosphere - as if that's a problem at AFL games. The worst bit for me is when they tell you to welcome your team onto the ground. STREWTH!!! What the heck did I go to the footy for? I've spent a week on BF, watched the replay of the week before, organised my whole weekend around the fixture - AND NOW SOME CLOWN IS TELLING ME TO WELCOME MY TEAM ONTO THE GROUND. AAARRRGHH!!!
