Maybe, but probably not so much when talking about Arnott/Biscuit.........I just think of him as a bad Ass cookie monster :D. Still to each their own.......

Dea just needs AFL gametime and he will be fine. Release Houli to the wing and that will allow Dea to play.

"You look at the guy and you think he can play anywhere, but we need him as a forward.”

Is Houli capable on a wing? Also as much as I love Dea and we gain defensively, but we lose a lot offensively there out of the backline. I think they can co-exist. Dea needs to push Newy out which I think he can do.

Houli says he wants to play on a wing.

Dea should take Newys spot but not in 2014 IMO. Only mentioned the wing because he said it himself. Or we just get Vlas and Ellis and Lids out of there and keep Houli for some offensive run.

I think he will take some of Newy's games. Vlastuin should push midfield more so than back flank so even that would create a back line spot for Dea. Will also depend who we draft and how ready they are. I actually only just saw the Houli video after TheAnt replied. I hope he stays down back. He's made massive improvements there.

Yeah I think he was more hoping than anything, ever since he came to us he has been hinting to a midfield move but I think we like him in our back 6.

I think we promised him a shot at midfield when he moved over. He was a bit lost on the wing at first, which is why he was settled onto a back flank, though he's a much better player now.

Gee... after reading Jake Batchelor's "In Focus", it would seem that Matt Dea has more of a chance nabbing Newy's spot than Batchy does...

He's a player that I was really excited about when we drafted him and his 1st season was very solid. He just doesn't seem to have gone on with it the way some others have. It can happen sometimes, players can plateau a bit and not all players see the second year blues in second year either. His may have been a bit delayed. I think he'll be strongly motivated with later players starting to challenge him or threatening to move past him…..

His weakness is that he has allowed himself to grow that Quaker beard. I was waiting for him to run out on the ground wearing a straw hat ffs. His confidence has obviously taken a beating due to it.

Well ffs someone do a reverse Sampson on him....quick !!;)

Dea and Mcbean sound like the two who are genuine chances at nabbing and keeping a best 22 spot next year, fantastic reviews the both of them :thumbsu:

All sound like they have a lot to offer, and while I know these reviews generally have a positive spin all these guys sound like they can form a solid developmental nucleus in the new Richmond VFL side. They can implement the gameplan and know exactly what roles they have if and when they get the call up to the seniors. Excellent work Tiges
