Tiller cannot play back

Barring injuries, Tiller will not play much at all...and I am happy to bet you $1k he does not play 60 games for the Doggies

Your logic/ reason for him being dropped seems somewhat askew, as Tiller is 186cm & North have picked a very tall side for Sundays game

Its not about smalls to match up on

think you better check your source cause tiller is over 190cm aqnd i will bet you 1k about that

I agree, how can someone get joy out of bagging his own players:confused:. It is becoming a bit of a ghost town around here.

Chef,

If you read my other posts you will notice that I have said I hope I am wrong.

However, to suggest that I get joy out of my comments on Tiller is
absurd. The simple fact of the matter is that, in my view, we have better alternatives on our list.....

I have been following the Dogs for over 50 years & if a player runs out in Red, White & Blue, Tiller included I am 100% behind them. The point is
I have seen many players like Tiller, (gives it his all & tough at the contest) go through the club and are not up to it..

I want a FLAG and if that means Tiller and anyone else who is not up to the top level is dropped off the list I doubt any supporter would disagree with me

Cheers

If you are 100% behind all our players, why would you want to bet $1,000 that one of them won't play 60 games?

I have no problems with your thread or your posts. I am interested in all doggies supporters opinions on players and issues, positive and negative. But to me, wanting to bet on one of our players not doing well is a strange one. No matter what you or anyone else thinks of Tiller and his abilities/attributes surely it is all our best interests for him to develop and play well. I don't understand why you would want to have an invested interest(by winning $1,000) in him doing poorly. Seems to fly in the face of being a supporter IMO.

Just my two cents :)

Thanks for your comments mate,

First of all, I'll say for the 5th time I hope I am wrong,
secondly there is no vested interest for me ( i.e. 1k bet) if Tiller doesn't make the grade: As always it will be another donation to the club I love.....

I thought Tiller did some really nice things today. He has come on a lot from this time last year.:thumbsu:

The only suggestion I would make though, is for him to give the kick in's a miss. I know at times he has to take the kick in, but gee I get nervous when he kicks the ball in after a behind.

i like tiller, but he is a shocking kick sometimes. kicked a few out on the full under no pressure today, and kicked a few hospital balls to leading players where it should have been a low stab pass. He needs to get lessons asap from gilbee ! hehe !

cheers

whilst everitt made some mistakes on the weekend, there is an upside to him in that he is tall & athletic and has suffered injuries which have derailed his progression. He has obvious talent

tiller, however, is not in the same catagory his decision making is poor,
does not have clean hands, when he spoils he takes a teammate out of the contest and doesn't man up when the opposition has the ball.

In fact, in my humble opinion, there is no place for him in the side at all.

Please rocket don't play him.

Hi Everyone,

I just joined Big Footy today, although I have been reading posts for over a year.

I am a mad doggies supporter and go to the footy with my Dad & brother.

I have been reading this post and was most upset by snagboy rubbishing
Stephen Tiller. Does he expect him to be a champion overnight.

Give the young man a chance

Cheers

Welcome to BF and the bulldogs board :)

Tiller has come along leaps and bounds since this time last year. The final against the Swans seemed to be his turning point. He hasn't looked back since(His kick out from full back in last weeks game excepted :D)

Wow he needs kicking lessons other than that he looks fairly good. I remember when he started and played forward thought he was fairly good.

I remember hating Eagleton - I think it took him 5 years to actually deserve the spot he had in the team.

Fortunately, under Eade, players develop a little quicker. Addison, for example, was useless in 2007. I would curse every time he got near the ball. Now I love his game and he is exactly the type of uncompromising player our team needed.

I have had my doubts re Harbrow but now believe he is a valuable member of the this years campaign. I respect the way Eade's team continues to blood new players both drafted and rookied. And now in his 5th year we have more depth then we have ever had in my memory.

I am sure even the coaching staff can see the deficiencies in Tiller's game but you can't develop players without them playing games. You can't improve without first making mistakes. Like addison, tiller does not lack courage and with courage progress will come.

There is good reason to cut this panel of coaches some slack and have a little faith.

Excellent post. Agree with everything you said.

It is preferable on this forum to "play the ball" rather than the man, however you are a plonker.
