Story on the AFL website said that Paul Roos has declared an interest in Tim Notting.

Personally I don't think he has much of a future at the Lions and I'd be prepared to let him go for a second round draft pick.

What do other people think?

There's no way T.Notting is worth more than a second round pick.

You would not expect to spend a first round pick on a player who amounts to nothing more than a fringe player in your team.

If we got a pick between 20 to 30, that would be a reasonable return.

I reckon trade him for a 2nd round pick. He's not geting a game and we might as well get a kid instead for him. It'll also save money on the salary cap.

Have to agree.

Ashcroft retiring.
Notting traded for 2nd round DP.
Morrison traded for 3rd round DP.
Weller elevated.

Should free up some dollars, as long as we draft youngsters.

I'd look closely at the futures of Craig McRae and Alistair Lynch as well, if push came to shove. Michael, Power and Lappin should be our top priorities in getting them to re-sign.

We'd take Notting any time at Geelong.
How about pick 22 (2nd Round pick) for Notting?

Done!

While we're at it, how about Bradshaw for your first round pick as well? ;)

Personally, I reckon it is time for McRae and White to retire. Great servants they've been, but they are now in decline in various ways (injury, form) and have been for a while. Likewise, they can both be replaced immediately with the capable likes of McGrath and Brennan respectively.

Lynch I would be prepared to give another year to, unless it meant losing a number of other required players. However, it would all depend on whether or not we have someone to replace him, if he was forced to retire.
