Looking at todays ladder in the Herald Sun and saw that Carlton were in front for 61% of their games, which was either the 3rd or 4th highest in the comp.

Shows a couple of things. Firstly, we have been in a winnable position in all of our games. Secondly, we are not copping thrashings like in previous years. Thirdly, being the young, inexperienced side we are, not quite able to hang onto leads, although the eagles game was a good test which we passed.

Interesting stat, but if you can recall the game vs WCE in 2006......we led from start to about a minute before the finish.........its WHEN you are in front that we have been lacking.

It was very pleasing though to see us head off a major challenge and actually win a fourth quarter.
Love the week off after the Perth trip too.:thumbsu:

Don't seem to have the killer instict yet but it will come. Teams like Geelong and Hawthorn generally put the game to bed once they're that far in front.

True, but we did stave off a comeback.

In the last three years or so we would have lost that game once they got within 4 goals........we would've dropped our heads and not got the momentum back.

Not only to hang on for the win, but to pull away and get the margin we did was fantastic.

What a difference one man can make. You could see the others lifting around him.
