Verbal contracts are just as binding as written ones, especially if multiple parties know the terms.

It wont be deemed as a contract though, because I don't think there was any consideration which doesn't make it a legal or binding contract. As far as I have heard there was just an understanding that after his contract expired if he wanted to go home then the Crows would make it an easy transition.

If they felt it was going to be a sticking point, they would have put it into his contract.

I can understand him wanting to go home. I just don't get what is going on with him wanting to go to a Melbourne club or Sydney. Why is he that adamant about leaving the Crows? Was the money that bad that you guys were offering?

Not in my field of work they are not

I guess he wont have to worry too much about being hassled in Sydney, not as much as a footy made city I guess.

It sounds like a worry though, it seems like a pretty poor reason to want to pack and leave.

To think you wont get any attention in Sydney after being the highest paid sporting personality there is just a joke. His face will become known to all of Sydney and he will be pestered just as he was here.

Worse. He will be known for what he truly is.

Trade period goes for 3 weeks. For the sake of my sanity, and my university studies, I hope this deal is done early!

Its going to be such a frustrating time. He's already screwed us over, now we have his manager talking crap. God I hope we get some good compensation. If we have crap negotiations with the Swans, stuff em and lets deal with GC or Brisbane. If they want no deal with us, its off the PSD you go Kurt.

If I hear Jesse Whites name one more time, I might explode.

Same here. I was worried about my insatiable appetite towards trade week would be a problem :(

good luck trying to argue that one in court

No he won't. The majority of Sydney people still won't give a rats arse. You would surprised with the lack of response from the wider Sydney community after they won the GF. If he is coming to NSW to stay out of the spotlight he will probably find what he is looking for.

We were offering him pretty similar to Sydney, Bris and GC.

The official line is something like, he didnt like the media and fan attention he was getting, especially after the concussions, with every man and his dog in Adelaide asking him how is head was, and when he would be signing a contract.

Piss weak basically.

Yep. Toughen up princess. You'll need it in Sydenknee too.

OK, so let's extrapolate on those first 12 games, which weren't affected by concussion. After 11 rounds he had 38 votes (your figures). That's an average of 3.17 per game. Extrapolate that out to 25 games and we predict him finishing on 79.2 votes. That would rank him 4th, though it's fair to say that Walker has a higher vote per game rate (but was rubbed out for 5 weeks by the MRP and sat out R23 for good measure). Call it 5th.

Two problems with your extrapolation. One, you are only doing it for Tippett (and now begrudgingly for Tex). Vince and Wright were also at or above 3 votes per game and missed 5 and 3 games. Jacobs missed the Geelong game and had a higher per game rate than Tippett's first half. He wasn't in the top 5 after 11 games, but that extrapolates to a top 5 finish? That takes some creative maths.

Secondly, there is an issue with extrapolating the games in the first half to cover some of the games he missed - Geelong at Geelong; Freo (2 goals in his last 4 games against them), Essendon - or the games he was subbed out (included finalists North and West Coast. The chunk of games he missed was in the tougher part if our draw. Saying he would have performed against them as he did against weaker sides is a stretch.

The blucher interview on AFL.com is a disgrace the threats of do as we want as Tippett could of gone to the GC for free and 22 is a viable option are inflammatory to say the least, I doubt he would get out of SA alive if he has the balls to go back.

For a start the threat of us taking him is gone, Ashcroft has made it clear we have moved on and I don't think Blulcher will be welcome back anytime soon. And 22 is freaked miles off fair trade value, this guy needs to be smashed in this trade and I hope you guys are the ones to do it.

yeah I'm furious at that interview...bulcher is a pure w***er....and for all the swans fans on their board who keep saying tippett will play for 600k or take less money than with other teams the article clearly states that the sydney offer was more money than all the other offers....meaning 900k and up

I'd get on the phone to sheedy and do a multiple player deal. sheedy takes tippett but trades him to anyone but sydney picks and players are swapped and both our and GWS lists are improved and yippett can rot elsewhere

Can people I'm here please not be too harsh on AFGM, I'm not saying his right and to be honest didnt read too much of his posts, but if you don't like it you can ignore him?!

This may be this guys only outlet in life! Having been sick for the past few weeks, my posts at all odd hours indicates that it is an outlet for me too.

Is it not easier to just ignore the person all together? I am very sure this feature is available for us?!

Sorry guys I really cbf looking through 120 pages to find an answer but has he fallen out with someone at the club? Why does he want to leave a tight-knit group thats going to be pushing for a flag next year?

From what we can all work out Tippett wanted to:

1. go to a non-football state where he will be anonymous i.e. people won't come up to you in the street and talk to you (the horror!)

2. His preferences would have been GCS, BRS and Syd in that order, but the money offers were the other way around

3. therefore he chose Sydney. Apparently he is very money-driven!

4. Late-breaking news, Sydney players want to meet the board about this deal. Having just won a flag the club then brings in an outsider as the highest paid player, and which will probably mean a forced trade that would break up the premiership team.

His attitude is toxic (money hungry, football not the main focus in his life) any club that takes him on risks damaging its culture.

I haven't followed this as closely as most here, but his manager seems like an absolute flog from the few articles today.

Kurt's attitude is just plain weird - 'I want a million a year... But no pressure and no public scrutiny'. Defies logic.
The weird part is someone actually said yeah, ok

Swans' board is throwing up Grundy as a suggestion.
Oh great, the Richard Douglas of Sydney.

Thought of as a decent player by most AFL fans, but his brain dead errors make Swans supporters tear their hair out.

The only guys I really want are Hannebery and Rohan. But Hanners is probably off limits and Rohan would be a big risk given his injury history.
