Would you give up our 2nd rounder to the Hawks too if thats what it took to get Roughy?
Probably but given that Sydney are offering Culture Kurt $4 million I would be looking for a straight swap. They can make up any difference :D

In all seriousness, I would have preferred Kurt to stay but if we walk away with Roughy, we are already ahead in this trade.

If we let pick 40 vs 59 get in the way of obtaining Roughead, I'd burn down the Westpac Centre.

I guess it all depends on who Sydney hand over.

Hypothetically, it's Josh Kennedy - then yes we will have to hand something extra over but if it's Sam Reid then Sydney should even things up or at worse that would just be a 3 way player trade.

That Rohan article didn't feel me with any confidence he would be coming hear as part of any trade even if Sydney were prepared to let him go

at this stage what else is Rohan suppose to say, he is a Syd player

reading the Hawks board after the GF they were calling for Roughie's blood and demanding that he should be traded

I would love Roughead however it's probably at worse odds then Melb winning the flag in 2013

Can someone explain the meaning or context behind this? I mean the part about Kurt Tippett and Brenton Sanderson.

I don't get it

Sorry!....My poor attempt at humour in reference to his manager saying that he has never played under a coach over 5' 9". Didn't know it was a measure or a coaches worth.

Na, nothing about your post mate. It was more along the context from the entire situation that I didn't understand.

So what, in your opinion, are we going to get in a trade?

Yes but IMO, people on Big Footy have a huge tendency to over rate and over value the importance of their own players and the world would will end if they lost that player.

Sydney may be giving up too much but if Sando can get Varcoe on board maybe something like this:
Swans in: Tippett, 2nd round pick (crows) Out: Parker, Rohan, 22
Geelong in: Rohan, 22 Out: Varcoe, GHS
Carlton in: Parker Out: pick 11
Crows in: Varcoe, GHS, pick 11 Out: Tippett, 2nd round pick

Where is this Roughead talk coming from? The only place I've seen it mentioned is on this board.

I suggested Roughead could be a possible target with our $800k war chest because of our past attempt, his suitability for all relevant factors, and some really weak rumours about his relationship with Clarkson and poor end of season form, about 3 days ago. Today, it's being reported by all the usual uninformed sources.

Make of that what you will.

Let's get this straight guys.

Sam Reid is NOT leaving Sydney
Gary Rohan is NOT leaving Sydney
Roughead is NOT leaving Hawthorn

You got it.

Sydney are going to give us the commercially viable pick 22 because Blucher said they can, and they will additionally give us Jesse White as a show of good faith and generosity.

A....That's what she said.....

B - Big footy supporter like their own players and don't ever want to lose any.

A :D

B Just caught me off guard- I was asking Chinook what he thought he would get, as he was against the main flow of the last page of suggestions

i would take that and run, far far away

So what, in your opinion, are we going to get in a trade?
I want the best for Adelaide as much as the next Crows fan on this thread, but we need to get realistic. It's not simple enough to say, "Geez Cyril Rioli is a good player, let's get him involved in a 3 way trade with Sydney." These are all pipe dreams, because you are taking a leap of imagination and assuming Rioli or Roughead or Reid etc want to come to Adelaide. Then once you've gone over that monumental hurdle, you have to arrange a trade which appeases all parties.

We know from the trading history of the AFL that more deals fall through than get done. But to answer your question, I really don't know how this is going to pan out. Grundy is from SA, but does he actually want to play for the Crows? Seem sources seem to think that he does not.

We are in a pretty rare situation where we are dealing with a Premiership team, so their better players, i.e. those who we are likely to want, aren't particularly screaming for the chance to leave the Swans. Who can blame them? So I really think draft picks are going to come into play here, but again they are going to need to trade out a player(s) to get those pick(s), so time will tell. I think this will drag on for a couple of weeks, and he may not even be playing at the Swans next year.

Let's get this straight guys.

Sam Reid is NOT leaving Sydney
Gary Rohan is NOT leaving Sydney
Roughead is NOT leaving Hawthorn
Kurt Tippett is NOT going to Sydney
can do it too.;) You know the above how?

Swans will have thought this through before they put an offer to Tip$tick. They wouldn't have been taking the noob Blucher's gentlemen's agreement and 22. They would have known they would have to give something good in return. They either know that someone wants to go home now that they have won a flag or they are going to have to do some deals with third party clubs to get it across the line.

Which ever way you look at it this has the makings of Crazy Vossy's Fev deal all over again. Players are going to be put out...which is reportedly happening already. Someone is going to be asked to leave and they might not want to.

I'm hoping Danger is spending all his time off getting in Rohan's ear about coming to play with him at the Crows. His tweets earlier may have been tongue in cheek or something else.
Sam Reid may think I've won my flag...I would like to play with my brother and be closer to my family.
Roughead might become the pawn in Josh Kennedy going back to the Hawks...you just don't know.

 Wow! If we managed that the list mangers at those clubs would be lined up and shot. That would be the deal of the century and everyone would be Tippett who??

I get your point, but I think we all knew deep down that Tippett would be departing at the end of this year, whereas we have no reason to believe that the players I listed want out

Na, the point I was make was, in Big Footy world - your own player is one of 2 things, a massive gun and is worth pick 1 in any draft or not going anywhere until proven otherwise.

This trend occurs across all teams, not just Sydney.
