I haven't seen where Noble or Beatson have come out and said what has been offered. That is pure speculation. Noble said they did not even meet today.

So anything that Sydney may or may not have done today is again speculation.

To quote David Noble " I can't comment on all the speculation because it just continues to grow untruths"

He also said this will probably go until the last week. Heaven help us all
Sydney wouldn't have done anything today, the clubs didn't even meet.

One thing I am struggling with FAITH, or anyone else for that matter, is that we are talking about bringing new players into the club, but at the same time we seem to be re-signing virtually all of the players on our list.

The only players that I know of that won't there next year are Tippett, Knights, Doughty and Symes. That's 4 vacancies that I can think of.

Are there any more?

Crouch comes on the list. That leaves 3 vacancies, as long as we leave Cullinan on the Rookie list.

Giles and GHS appear to be trade-in targets. That only leaves one vacancy and there's no way we would be only having one pick in this draft.

Are we going to trade out players as part of our trades in? Are we going to pay Tambling out??

Can anybody please enlighten me on this apparent conundrum?

PS What is the contract status of Johncock, Otten, and McKernan

Possibly someone will get traded.
We may only get 2 picks in this draft anyway.

Otten, johncock and mckernan are all contracted for 2013 macca23.

Thanks for that, Paladin. :thumbsu:

That means after we include Crouch there are only 3 vacancies and therefore 3 picks in the draft.

How are we going to trade players in without trading players out??

It wouldn't make sense to have less than 3 picks in this draft.

I am lost as to why the attack on Sydney. Was nothing learnt from our trading last year.

Sydney could have waited for the PSD and taken Armstrong as he was uncontracted. Instead we traded Lewis Johnston (who was contracted) to you for Armstrong and a pick in the 30's.

You all hooped and hollered about how much you one out of that deal. And that's fine, we got what we wanted out of it.

So why would we shaft you guys this time.

I am not saying we will necessarily be able to give you what you want. In which case you either take it or the deal falls over. Noble said tonight that he was concerned the deal may not happen.

If that happens then both clubs move on and you try and find a new buyer. Probably Brisbane who suck at trading.

I would be surprised if the swans would want to wait around for the PSD to try and get him. It would be too great a risk. We have the salary cap and we need to improve our list.

And we don't send guys to the PSD to get a bargain.

We try and do a deal, not always equal but one where we can come back next year.

I do not know if the swans are prepared to give up Mitchell or Parker (I hope not) but they are good at getting a deal done, and most times a fair one.
He never said this at all. I suggest reading the article on our website and trying again. The only thing he hinted was that this will go well into the final week.

Fine i'll explain it,

Jetta is more important to our gameplan than Tippett,
Our list has just shown, literally less than 2 weeks ago that it can win a GF.
If we had lost then some of your trades may be better received (as far as Parker or Grundy goes).
Good coaches build a gameplan around their better players. Yours are Jetta and Goodes. It's pretty clear your gameplan is based on giving Jetta and Goodes space to run into and bombing into that space. Longmire is an excellent coach. He won you a GF. He will build next years gameplan around Tippett. Bookmark it. That's why Tippett is a better player than Reid, you didn't build your gameplan around Reid now, did you?
Tippett is uncontracted, and wants to come to us, what his value is, is irrelevent, the majority of Swans supporters would prefer we dont get him if it involves trading away too much quality. Swans recruitment staff are fairly confident they wont need to get rid of any premiership players.
Of course his value is irrelevant to fans. His value however, is exactly the compensation which Adelaide receives as a result of trading him. (This has been discussed in the previous 10000 posts on this saga). His value is also related to what Sydney (and Adelaide) are willing to pay him. At this stage it looks like your club is willing to pay him more than all of your premiership team. Hence, your club feels differently to its supporters.

I also don't believe your club will trade away any premiership players. More likely players such as Mitchell and Rohan won't be playing in Sydney colours next year.
If we can get him cheap then great, welcome addition, should improve our forward line, if not then also great, we look forwards to the improvement of Sam Reid and Tommy Walsh to improve our forward line.
I'm pretty confident your club and my club will get a deal done on this one. Sydney has put too much on the table to withdraw from this now.
In addition to the recent premiership you have problems based on the fact that, of the 22 that played 7 are 29 or older, which gives them limited trade value, but also increases the value of our fringe players (at least the first 7) TO US as they will be needed to fill these positions in the immediate future.
Irrelevant, as you have stated and your CEO has stated that premiership players will not be traded, if this is the case it's likely one or even two of those next 7 will be traded. It's up to your club to gain fair recompense for these players.

Tippett is no doubt being chased, but the harm of breaking up a premiership team, especially if noone wants to go, may be a price too high in most Swans supporters eyes.
Again irrelevant, this is clearly not the position of your club.
Whatever our recruitment personnel do, Im sure they will try their best to accommodate a deal without paying overs.
Absolutely correct. I have absolute FAITH ;) that both teams will be fair and equitable at the trade table, and both clubs will be happy while both clubs supporters will probably cry unfair (until we meet you in the GF next year, and both groups will begrudgingly agree that the trade/s were for the best) :D :thumbsup:

That is what was reported on SEN tonight

Your later post that suggests that Giles for Tippett is only slightly unders shows that your judgement is very questionable.
I share the same thoughts as Vader and many others. Yes, I trust the judgement of Sando. I have seen the videos of GHS and I have read the Geelong supporters postings about him. I have read all the posts about his delayed development. The videos shows nothing out of the ordinary other than his disposal with left and right foot is good. Perhaps this is why the Buckley comparisons have been made. I am not knocking the guy and I hope he becomes as good as some people expect him to. However the point has been made and it is a valid one that he is not a proven performer at AFL level. Luke Parker is also only 19. He has also been in the AFL system for 2 years and yet he has played 32 games of AFL football and has a 30 posession game and numerous ones in the 20's. This must count more than 24 posessions in a VFL game.

Mate if your going to come on here and make a personal attack on me, or anyone else for that matter, you better have your facts straight. Now I have checked my post, 5230 pg 210, and what i said is that the trade was definitley unders but I understood the sentiment of a quick trade. Translated....I thought it was crap but, unlike you, did not see the utility in vilifying a fellow crows poster.

What I said was slightly unders was Giles and grundy for tippett, so dont attribute false statements to me because you don't time to read posts properly.

That is what was reported on SEN tonight
I suggest reading the article on our website with actual quotes than listening to SEN.

“We’re trying our best to work with Sydney to get the best-possible deal done, but the extended period of this trade means that things can go along and be delayed for up to three weeks.

“Unfortunately, there are a lot of clubs that are sitting and waiting to see how the (Free Agency) compensation picks look, which are going to be plugged into the system on about the 18th of October. That leaves you that last week to balance everything out.

“So, things might not be finalised until that last week.”

Speculation about potential trade targets and outcomes continues to grow, but Noble said it would be irresponsible for him to comment on ongoing discussions.

“I can’t comment on all that speculation because it just continues to grow untruths and we won’t disclose our strategy,” Noble said.

“Unfortunately, things are progressing slowly. We caught up with Sydney, but didn’t bother catching up today. It’s just going to take a little bit of time to get the details together from both parties.”

Possibly someone will get traded.
We may only get 2 picks in this draft anyway.

Pears interest to fade now that Luke Thompson has re-signed? ie We decided Pears was too much and kept LT, or LT decided to stay hence we don't need Pears anymore

Catman, regarding point (1)

Consider these players
Grundy = good
Jesse White = bad
Parker = medium
Mitchell = good
Reid = good
Pyke = medium
Rohan = medium
Hannebery = good
Dennis Lane = bad

The rating is not the rating of the player, its a rating of meeting crows needs, parker is a good player but we dont need that type so badly

so the sort of things we want are

a good player above plus 6-25 draft pick

a medium player plus an early and mid first round draft pick

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I doubt you would get Hannebury or Reid

Grundy a possibility, and Mitchell a definite possibility.

Gary Rohan wouldn't be too bad. I heard that Geelong even asked about him.

How good is Leroy!! :thumbsu:

it's amazing how Disrespectful the Sydney Fans are to FAITH on the Sydney Board.

Why should they have respect? We do, because we know his track record. They wouldn't know him from Kurt Tippett! ;)

I do remember this post.
Neither of those players are upgrades they are depth players people aren't really paying much attention to anything but faith and Sydney trolls in here.

Give me a break. Your picking on me for quoting what I heard on SEN instead of what was on your web site.

This whole thread is just one giant bit of speculation with everyone stating hearsay and feelings as fact.

Well you know, regardless of the validity of the claims we are rather attached to most of the team and when someone comes and say Mitchell or Reid will be traded (essential in most supporters eyes) we are going to get a bit uppity. It also doesn't help whenmium and information that's dead on is such a premium and essential unknown. So in other words it is seen as antagonistic even though it may not be.

What do we get for losing GHS?

Been some discussion here of pick 22 which was generally accepted as about right on your board.

Do you have any info as to his contract status and likelihood of returning if price is right?
