So if Sydney won't get rid of a Premiership player, how exactly will skirt get a spot in the team???? Won't they have to have a premiership player sitting out for him to come into the team or does your CEO not know how to count??

LRT drops out and becomes first in for key back or key forward or space ruck as necessary. Not a bad utility to have. There are always injuries and match up that may require it.

Next year we'd probably be a better side with Tippett, but that's only because Parker is Bolton's ready-made replacement, and once he retires Parker is a walk-up start in our midfield (and was this year until he was injured). He will be more important to us than Tippett in 2014, given the importance our club places on hard bodied, hard working midfields to win ball from stoppages as effectively as we do. So our club must look long and short term, because as I've said Reid will overtake Tippett either next year or in 2014.

Agreed both are possibilities ......going to cause a problem though with Reid given the huge salary disparity with Tippett

I agree though with Parker .....he's going to be a great player IMO .....Sydney need him though & Adelaide don't

So all being fair and given you have Jetta ....we'll just take Rohan and with #23 call it square

We all know this situation has arisen though. He's out of contract, the relationship with the club has broken down and he has chosen Sydney over a side with better trade picks. No disrespect, but had Adelaide acted on this last year, and not waited for him to finish his contract, this situation would not have arisen.

What's more, if the tables were turned, it would be no different. It is what it is.

Anyway, let's hope this situation ends soon. It's bad for both clubs' supporters, as none of us know anything but we're all hoping for the best for our respective clubs.

Tippetts brand has taken a MASSIVE pounding over all this, as has that of the AFL trade system.

I doubt even blucher (or KT for that matter) knew until august that Tippett really wanted to live in Sydney. all reports up until the end of september were that he wanted to go home to QL to be with mummy and daddy. that then changed when a big money offer came on the table. saying 'it is what it is' doesnt change the fact that both sydney and KT have acted inappropriately here. Tippett by nominating 1 club (not even a city) and Sydney by luring a player with a $4mil offer before even establishing whether terms could be reached for a possible trade with Adelaide. As far as i can tell Adelaide acted in good faith with KT and offered him more money than any other crow has ever been offered.

If the tables were turned sure id be happy with getting a player that the other club didnt want to lose (Scott Thompson and Andrew Jarman come to mind) but i'd feel a little sheepish that we were trying to manipulate the situation and i certainly wouldnt be going on the swans board bragging about how 'he's picked us so take tamblings contract off our hands or we wont even give you pick 23 and you get nothing'

What a silly post given what Giles has been through.

Obviously Dean Cox is a much better player than Jono Giles, but it's like saying 'Dean Cox refused to come over to Adelaide when he wasn't guaranteed a first team position so therefore he musn't have been willing to work hard whereas Gus Graham is keen to work hard. WOO GUS GRAHAM!'

I said that Giles would still work his arse off and earn his spot, get a grip. I'm only going by what FAITH said to why he didn't come to Adelaide, and why we got Graham instead.

I cant believe people think Tippet will just go to Sydney in the draft. What about Carlton, seems they have money if they were going to pick up Cloke. Brisbane too would have salary cap room now the |Fev debt is gone. There is no need for Adelaide to threaten to redraft him. lets not forget Sydney has the last pick in the draft as premiers

Yes in part .,...more the case he loses control of which team

If after 4 weeks this is the deal I expect the anger would be enormous. On friday we all assumed that this was going to be it so the anger was there but so was a bit of facepalming acceptance. If they drag it out another week and get everyone's hopes up that the club actually has balls...... Only then to go back to white+23 there is going to be one epic shitstorm.

Sydney wont say 'send him to the psd' because they want everyone to believe that a trade is happening so no one makes time to hold deals or adjust contracts to get cap space to pick him up.
