Oh dear.

The problem now is that it could turn out that Quayle had this story completely wrong, and it wouldn't matter. The mud would still stick because we've eroded our good name away with the Tippett deal. People no longer give the Crows the benefit of the doubt because we simply don't deserve it anymore.

If there is some kind of breach for van Berlo I can't imagine it was deliberately done. It would have been completely unnecessary, almost ridiculously so.

I hope that all of this turns out to be a bit of overzealous reporting, but at this point I can't say I'm very confident. The AFC would want to have one hell of a showing on monday.

We may have lost some of our credibility but there are one hell of a lot of people out there that feels we are being screwed over especially regarding the Tippetts. I think the Tippetts are being viewed as the biggest pack of arseholes in the AFL system. As for other clubs I also believe that they feel for the AFC given that most of them have broken the rules but havent been caught. Our best answer to all of this is to perform well on the field next year. Just like the Storm has done. Lets face it the Storm lost all of its credibility but winning the flag this year has seen them bounce back into favour.

Now that third party deals like Judd's will have to be included within the salary cap I wonder if we're likely to see some surprising moves during free agency next year given that clubs won't be able to offer that which they were expecting to.

This is exactly what I was talking about before. The concept that this might have been an error would have been pretty reasonable before, but after the Tippett thing? People will laugh at us if we try to run that line now, unless it can be definitively proven in court. Even then there will be doubters.

We only have ourselves to blame for it, too.

I remember many times in here some people saying that they hate that we have this squeaky clean image. Well I guess that's fixed now! honestly I don't give a **** what people think of us off the field. It's on the field that matters. We need to own what's happened. It's a part of our history now. It's a little interesting that the AFL has now advised a crackdown on a range of 3rd Party arrangements, this could indicate that they are struggling to differentiate between the Tippett deal and other 3rd Party deals

I side with Sloane Ranger's interpretation of this. Additionally, Adelaide's QC will/should be all over the - possibly questionable - standard of 3rd party payments across the league.

To me the light bulb has finally turned on and the AFL now realize that the issue nay very well be with the 3rd party rules, with this in mind the AFL need to be consistent with how they crackdown on this farce
