The weather was shining (well ..outside), a packed Carlton crowd and a demolition to a team we haven't beaten since Australia held the olympic games.
I had my doubts up to half time and even at 3 Qtr time, but to the teams credit they ran the old bloods off their feet. It has to also be said that Ratts and the coaching staff did a terrific job today, especially keeping the dangerous White severely quiet after half time.

It was a real team effort today. Fev and Juddy did what they did best but the likes of Simpson in particular plus Houlihan, Fisher Murphy Gibbs and Carrazzo to name a few really put in 110%. Even the likes of Bentley and Anderson who aren't consistent members of our squad did well today. I just thought Bentleys toughness and dedication around the packs summed up our day.

Looking forward to what will be a mammoth game against the Pies next week. Hopefully Walks returns and Stevo can remind us why he should be part of our best 22. Expect 90,000 so should be a ripper!!

GO U BAGGERS! :thumbsu::thumbsu:

Last 2 weeks have been a good indication of where we are at as a club. Essendon and Carlton (particularly you lot, no offence) would have been considered games that we would have been highly confident in winning as we marched on towards September.

But it shows today and last week, that we aren't the team we were. The highly efficient team going forward and the ability to strangle the life out of a team seems to be a distant memory.

The emergence of a lot of players like Kruezer, Murphy, Gibbs and so on which strengthen the club going forward as we are starting to look like the slow and old club that many have predicted to happen.

Blues will play finals this year, we won't! A sign of the times indeed.

No-one will miss what your ugly, lockdown game-style reduced a match of AFL footy to.

It won us a flag so i'm not complaining. Would you?

To be honest no, not really. So the end justifies the means? Your game plan is to footy what bodyline was to cricket - within the rules but crap.

They denied the Eagles so thanks for that

This GT Racing VW of monkey shit is what I discovered inside an Etihad Stadium chicken burger today. I was still in shock from the price (so shocked I bought it) when I took this photo.

And the price for this piece of inedible, burnt shit with old lettuce and some type of sweetened snot in a styrofoam bun? $AU7.60. Something has to be done.

The natural order of things returns. :D

It always gets me that an "indoor" stadium is always much chillier than the MCG. Ridiculously cold in there today.

my neck is still frozen from my seats right in front of gate 5...

close the fuking doors next time

True, but they also denied Fremantle their first flag the following year. :o

I had just finished working in Perth at the time and flew back to Melbourne on the preliminary final weekend. Man, I was disappointed for the three Dockers supporters in the office - Freo had the wood over the Eagles 3 times that year... Imagine my disgust at the MCG, sitting through the Eagles winning the flag...
