What exactly do the West Coast Eagles need to become a strong force in 2005? We have plenty of quality players and WE MUST be considered as premiership contenders by mid season next year.

Return of Gardiner and arrival of Stenglein will benefit us but what's that extra thing Eagles need to become a force?

1) Someone to make CHB their own.

Lynch is probably the first pick, but I can see Staker and Hunter playing there at different points through 2005.

2) A genuine, damaging target up forward.

Gardiner will help, but we really need McDougall to develop into a 50-goal per season FF. If he can't do that, then Brad Smith and Ash Hansen need to be given opportunites sooner rather than later.
