From the AFL website’s wrap up of the round, confirmation of Toby’s return to All Australian form

Toby Greene is playing as well as ever

Less than 12 months ago, Toby Greene copped plenty of criticism after a disappointing run of form, with even the Giants skipper himself conceding he had been well below his best. Based on his 2025 form so far, another All-Australian blazer - and possibly the captaincy again - could be coming his way. After willing his side to victory over Melbourne in round one, Greene did it all against the Saints on Sunday, kicking five goals as the Giants' forward line hit top gear. With Jesse Hogan continuing his 2024 form, Aaron Cadman starting to blossom alongside recruit Jake Stringer and Harvey Thomas impressing on his return on Sunday, it's hard to know where to look in the Giants' forward 50 when they're in full flight. But arguably the skipper remains their most dangerous weapon. - Martin Smith

The latest "In the Green Room" interview - they finally get Toby on.

Nice ESPN article about our Toby - just love him and hope he has a memorable 250th game.

The grade one class of a suburban Melbourne primary school was asked to draw three places where they felt peaceful and calm.

Toby Greene, aged six, drew three pictures of the same place - a football ground.

Born minutes before the opening bounce of the 1993 Grand Final, it seems Greene was destined to become a football star with his early passion and later natural talent and relentless work ethic.

Toby 268.webp

Inspirational GIANTS skipper Toby Greene will add to his incredible legacy on Sunday when he breaks the club’s all-time games record with his 268th appearance in orange and charcoal.

It made us think, has there been a better first 267 games?

To celebrate the special milestone we’ve gone through the archives to compile the top 10 performances of Greene’s brilliant career to date ahead of Sunday’s record-breaking game.

The more this drags on, I can't help but think, what has Toby done for the club that involves a sacrifice, like a pay cut.

Or done something beyond which he has been extremely well paid.

He often did some great things on the field, not so much now.

And I can't help but consider all the times he was suspended and therefore unavailable, to the detriment of the team.

The many controversies which reflected poorly on him and the club, especially when he was Captain or at least a leader.........

I thought on many occasions he was selfish, so what's happening now is no surprise.

Bye Toby - thanks for the service.

I think the young guns have enough under the belt so there wouldn’t be a drop off should we lose Greene, Jessie and Cogs.

My concern is Tom. We need that done by end of this year or else we may as well right of next year with the non stop speculation.

I like the position we have taken. Put a good offer in. If he moves on, than so be it.
Personally I think at this stage it is speculation only. But who knows.

I disagree with them upping the offer from 2 to 3 years without triggers, but be that as it may, this MUST be the club's final offer.

I'll be very disappointed if they cave in and give him more because that will be a catalyst for other players wanting to renew.

I agree. The reality is, as captain and a senior (and ageing player), if he wants to win a flag with GWS then he needs to have a team capable of doing so. Which means a good best 23, and capable depth. Without rorting the system, then it means some players (essentially, the senior/best/most-well-paid) HAVE to take less to ensure the standard of those at 16-23 in the team, and the next 8-10 depth players, are the best guys we can retain.

Behold Toby Greene - GOAT and now the player who has scored the most goals in our entire history!!

Someone said he has had a broken foot. Please Tobes re-sign and finish of a 1 club player. You've earned the reputation that brings.
Easy way to guarantee him staying a one club player is to adopt the horse racing approach to foot injuries...
