As before - utterly useless, but interesting.

For the last 30 seasons (1985-2014) the Richmond Goal-kicking has been won by a 8 different players - but all wore an even number.
Michael Roach – #8
Jeff Hogg – #34
Stephen Ryan - #48 (look him up, disbelievers – 1990 – great year, that was)
Matthew Richardson - #12
Nick Daffy - #10
Matthew Rogers – #4
Mitch Morton - #20
Jack Riewoldt - #8

In fact, for the whole of Richmond’s History, even-numbered goal-kickers have tended to be significantly better than odd. Richmond has been in the league for 107 seasons. In that time, we have had 46 different Club Leading goalkickers (there have been 3 ties). Odd numbers– 21 different winners – total 35 seasons. Even – 25 different winners – total 73 seasons. (We don’t know what number Bill Bourke wore – he was our first leading goalkicker in 1908 and 1909).

So far, this year, even-numbered players have kicked 85 goals for Richmond, odd-numbered players have kicked 39.

Of the 11 Richmond players who have kicked over 300 goals, 8 wore even numbers and 3 wore odd. None of the 3 odd-wearers were full-time specialist forwards (Dyer, Bartlett, Weightman), all of the even-wearers were (although Jeff Hogg was forced to play everywhere, because we were so crap in his time).

No 12 has won our Goalkicking on 25 occasions – Matthew Richardson 13, Jack Titus 11 and Percy Martin once. No 17 has had 4 different players win – Bob Dummett, Donald Don, Jack Dyer and Mick Maguire.

Does this throw a new angle on the 'McBean (#34) or Vickery (#29)' discussion?

I honestly don't have any memory of Stephen Ryan. Even the name doesn't ring a bell.

Dont know where you come up with this stuff but thank you for the head ****, these threads bring a smile to my face :)

Against Essendon one year he made this match winning tackle after a 100mtr chase, I believe, had no idea he won our goal kicking though.

After finding that Shaun Grigg's goals looked like a perfect black cat, I had high hopes that the leading goalkickers might look like, say, Anna Khilkevich, but no such luck:

We thought Stephen Ryan was going to be a superstar. He won the goal kicking from the wing, in his first season. 22 games, 28 goals that year - 29 games, 15 goals in four more years.

A familiar story :(
