Hey guys,

Just to make it clear I am not suggesting Dean Bailey should be sacked rather just throwing out a name of someone who could possibly take this club forward.

Very respected coach who could be looking for the No 1 job at some stage. I think he would be a perfect fit for the MFC. Loved him as a player.

Dean deserves his time this year, I’ve been a supporter of what Dean is trying to achieve but last week was a disaster, I don’t think i could watch a whole year of that

In the next few years if things don't go to plan for Dean I would love to see Todd in the Red and Blue again.

I loved him as a player. He wasn't the best kick but he was as hard as nails.
However can he coach??? Is he any good at coaching???

Was with hawks for 3-4 years and left after they won the flag in 2008 and was with Adelaide in 2009 and again this year!

Did wonders with the Hawks midfield. How long is his contract at Adelaide?

I don't think going for an untried coach would be my first option if Dean Bailey departs(which is looking more and more likely by the week). I would rather a well respected coach who has taken teams consistently to finals footy in the past. Throw all the coin we have at someone like Matthews or Malthouse. Someone who won't put up with the bullsh*t we are dishing up at the moment. We have good kids at the club now, potentially a very good side(maybe minus a very good KPF and a very good ruckman), but we need a coach who knows what the hell to do with these players. I don't care how much it costs, get some guys in the box who have been successful. I'll buy two memberships to help pay for it. Not since Barassi have we had a coach who is a winner! I know Barassi didn't get the results, but going for another untried coach IMO is not the way to go. It's time to spend some money Jimmy....

Viney would be a very good get IMO. Was clearly the more prepared senior coach material than Hardwick in 2008. That said, left for family purposes by all reports, might not want to leave again.

IMO Viney would be a great senior coach. I also am a strong advocate for ex-players returning back to their original club.

The reason for Hawthorn's surprise bad year in 2009 can be partly due the Viney leaving. New decisions made by the club and the new forward coach was to put more weight on Hodge and Franklin, causing them to have less successful years than the previous year.
Viney is also supposed to be tactically smart and instills discipline among the group.

I am also not saying we should get rid of Bailey, but if we continue to struggle, look uninspired, settle for another bad year or continue with what seems to be a lack of a game plan - Viney might be the answer.

P.S. on you Grimesy
