Yeh, they do get a pick before us though.

I was thinking perhaps he's been told what our intentions arent. If you get my drift.

You might well be right.

I can't see Adelaide selecting him in either the ND or the PSD, which leaves only the rookie list. If he wants to remain in Adelaide and not just on a rookie list, then The Evil Empire would be his only option.

Still, it would be nice to think that Adelaide would have their spies keeping an eye on him at The Evil Empire's pre-season training, perhaps with an eye to stealing him from under their noses (like they did to us with Daniel Pearce).

You guys don't start training until a couple of days before the ND so it would make sense for him to train with Port now - have a chance to impress and keep his conditioning up. He lead Port's 3k time trial today, altho the senior players aren't up til next week.

Doesnt mean we can't draft him. Just have to get our spies out to watch him and see how he goes.

Alan Stewart's used to that. We'll put out a chair and some Tim Tams for him.

We wouldn't do that though, the AFC hierachy dones't like to upset them. It's like a viscious circle. We keep treating them like they're a respectable club and they keep sticking the knife in. Hopefully we will learn a long overdue lesson one day. I doubt it though.

Good one ... those "creative writing 101" lessons appear to be working.

Don't be too negative about that Springy.

if Adelaide thought he was worth getting they'd cut Port's lunch just as much - they owe Port quite a few in this regard.

Personally if I was Logan, I'd have a preference for Port, because the immediate mid-field opportunities are much greater there, and you can't play good footy if you can't get a game or get 10 minutes a quarter max, which is his more likely fate at Adelaide.

Is this where you cue F-U to come and blame Riccuito for this? :p

On your first point, that's an understatment Mac.

On your second point. I agree Adelaide has a better midfield than Port. However, I don't think we have an abundance of potentially quality young midfielders either. I see Knights, hopefully VB and Hinge and then nothing.

EDIT: I must admit, I haven't given up hope that Stiffy can get himself fit enough to demand a spot in our midfield rotations.

I was thinking the same thing.

We start training on the 24th of november and the draft is on the 26th. Gives Logan sweet ******** all time to show anything in 2 days.

On the other hand, he has 2 weeks to impress Port and as macca23 said, he probably sees more opportunities in Port's midfield than he does in ours. Good luck to the lad either way.

good post. They deserve no respect at all. We should take him in the draft if we particularly want him and should of already had a look at him in the break. As he came first in the time trial or watever they did today it appears he is one of those try hards with limited ability and will be no great loss if we dont pick him up. lets find a roughie who could be something special instead.

let's not get too worked up over a 'delistee'.

he needs to do the best thing for him, and good luck to him. if Port wants him, and decides to give him a go, let's not get too worked up over what we lost.

he is not a gun junior, he's a delistee looking for another chance. he might make it, he might not, either way I don't see too much to lose sleep over.

Are you insinuating .... Port are trying to shaft us ?

You cheap bastards .... I'd at least throw in some diet coke aswell.

No doubt we will be watching every session they do, just like they watch us.

I don't think it matters who he trains with. The side that wants him most will get him.

Channel 9 reported that he would be earlier this week.

They said that he would be returning to South Australia and would be doing his pre-season with the Crows.

They used the eye catching headline prior to the sports section of "the Lion who wants to become a Crow"

Isn't it always funny how the CROWmpromised media spindoctors in this state always link u guys to every player that sets foot in Adelaide: from Motlop to Logan to whoever is available next... I actually find Bigfooty as the most reliable source of footy-related breaking stories than the print and tv media junk relayed among channels and papers searching for a headline

So you're saying the media in this state is weighted in favour of the AFC?? You never heard of Michaelangelo Rucci, the Chief Sports Reporter of our only Newspaper?

Springy Rucci is just a one-man show, in fact for all his rattling, Rucci lags behind the tv networks in that respect esp considering he is a self-confessed Power supporter. The others try to run the objectivity line, but really, we all know they just need to smell the slightest of rumours and tie that to the Crows as long as its got a positive spin

I was going to put out the nice bickies for him, not the Westons family favourites. But he can bring his own thermos! :p

I reckon television is about 50/50. Radio, and especially KG and Cornes is more weighted towards the Crows. But IMO The Advertiser, because of Rucci, is so anti-Adelaide it's not funny. And becuase The Advertiser reaches a larger audience than 5AA I would say generally this states media are predominately anti-AFC. But again this is mainly due to Rucci's influence at The Advertiser. And to be fair, it's not that The A is overly generous in their comment on Port, more so they ( specifically Rucci ) go out of their way to look for/make up issues that reflect negatively on the AFC.

What compared to Kevin Crease, Rob Kelvin; Bruce Abernathy; Chris Dittmar;
John Riddell; etc. etc. With Dittmar the oly one IMO that is completely non- biased.

Your telling me these dont try and put a positive spin on their beloved Power.
Give me a break. :(

Ahh, got to love the off season banter. :thumbsu:

Back on topic, I think both the Crows and Power would have a fair idea whether or not Logan is any good and worth drafting. Hardly think whether 'Stewart' spying is going to make much of a difference to the final decision.
