The injury thing made him drop,

I rate him the second best midfielder in the draft (Rich being first)
about 191cm inside classy midfielder, in the u/17;'s he led contested marks, clearances, kicks, Skills are top notch, if he doesnt suffer any injuries he will be brilliant

Would love him at the hawks

It was u/16's not under u/17's.

Too early too tell if he does well at draft camp take him.

Pace is his question mark.

If he has a bad draft camp will slide into late 30's.

If it is different injuries too different knees I would deffinately take him. FWIW Judd's shoulder's are the reason he slipped to 3. Selwood slipped due to o.p J-Mac slipped due to o.p and only having played 11 or so games in two years.

The fact that it's different injuries to different knees to me suggests that it's more then likely bad luck then anything else and that with the right rehab and training program he'd be fine.
Stole my thunder on Judd and Selwoods injury concerns before they were drafted.
But cast your mind back two years "Steve Johnsons ankles are shot, like a car crash victim not worth a second round pick"-Collingwood Medicos.

2 knee issues sounds like huge gamble with our first pick. We NEED classy mids that will be able to play. Not classy mids that sit on the sidelines.
Agree be a Massive Risk Picking a Kid with two Dodgy Knees.

Who tall is he?

Hine loves a risk but he's also smart.. overlooked Muston and made the right call on Dawes.. he'll nail it

is he quick?

Pace would be a question mark on him. He is very inside, very smart and quick enough. He was not visibly slow before the reco's pace was just not a great asset. That said he'd be playing an inside role such as Burns and O'Bree and our midfield will include guys like Davis Thomas J-Mac Swan and Shaz who are all very quick. We won't have the one pace problem going foward

Selwood had dodgy knees so clubs let him slide to 7, Franklin had an attitude problem so he slid. St's and Hawks were sceptical about dodgy shoulders on Judd. In all seriousness unless it is the same problem on the same knees etc, it's just as likely that it is bad luck as it is bad body. FWIW J-Mac managed only 11 games in 2 years because of o.p and has barely missed a game this year.

His got good size for a mid. I'd say around Pendles height

With a name like that he'd want to be!!! :p

Seriously, what a cool name for footy Tom Swift is. Instant cult status if he's any good.

Ah, he'd be fantastic.

I had a brief fascination with the Tom Swifty in high school, this would be a chance to rekindle the passion. Particularly since we already have several puntastic names on board!

I would love to have this kid but the knees are a worry. Also do you think the fact he's a WA boy will make a difference?

Sounds like exactly the type of player we need to go for. An all-round midfielder who is good at winning the contested ball. Plus he seems to be top quality but likely to fall low enough in the draft for us to pick him up. Is he still currently injured?? When is he likely to make a come-back??

Anyone have any footage of him?? Dave the floor is yours.....

I'm sure the club will have him undergo every medical test in the book to determine what shape his knees are in and how likely they are to survive an AFL career.

Paul Licuria had 2 knee reco's very young and was still able to forge a very good career - but against that you have Lee (Tangles) Walker......

Agreed. You'd back our medical team, even though they did appear to get the Steve Johnson one wrong. So did Essendon though.

Without knowing for sure I reckon we would have taken the punt on Selwood had he still been there at our pick 8.

Pick 11 is going to be a tough one. You'd expect Sidebottom to be gone by then and he has been the pick for us for a while according to the 'experts'. You'd think a good draft camp by Swift would bring him into calculations.
