Opinion Top 10 Indigenous Players

My friend heard a story on SEN (I think) rating the top Indigenous players of all time, and I must say that I disagreed with their top players, so Ive decided to make a list on here.

1. Peter Matera
2. Andrew McLeod
3. Gavin Wanganeen
4. Adam Goodes
5. Chris Lewis
6. Nicky Winmar
7. Michael Long
8. David Wirrpanda
9. Byron Pickett
10. Chris Johnson

Please Note, I have only listed players I have seen play. Obviously there will be a case for guys like Polly Farmer, the Krakours, Maurice Rioli etc, but since I havent seen them play, I dont know where they will fit in.

For the record, SEN listed Nicky Winmar as the greatest alongside Andrew McLeod.

Chris Johnson was much better than Wirrpanda. Get rid of Panda altogether, put Johnson at number 8, and slip Buddy in at number 10. Buddy will obviously be at or near the top in a few more years, but for now I'll respect seniority.

That's just my opinion anyway. Of players I've seen as well. I.e. not including Polly Farmer, Rioli etc.

Possibly sacrilege but for mine McLeod was a tiny fraction better than Matera.

Michael O'Loughlin a massive omission in my opinion. Will play 300 games and has kicked over 500 goals. 1995 is when I started watching football. Wanganeen would be 3rd but I didn't see him in his Brownlow year. Winmar and Long would probably be higher, but they were both very good in 1995 though. Don't really remember much of Chris Lewis so I haven't included him.

I know this list is about who we have seen but undoubtedly the greatest 2 aboriginal players of all time is;

Stephen Michael and Polly Farmer

They could be followed any of the 10-15 names mentioned here but i would imagine these guys would probably will the remaining 8, not in order.

Matera, Mcleod, Long, Winmar, Lewis, Maurice, Oloughlin and Wanganeen
