would Armitage be a first round selection?
Yeah macca I believe he's a first rounder and due to the fact he's already working in the Brisbane merchandise shop.I put 2 and 2 together and came up with 3.Another big plus for him is his toughness,Leigh Matthews will love him.

Not arguing with you but I thought I might put this up for debate purposes since most of us haven't seen him. Although not on any BigFooty thread, this is Mojo31's writeup which can be found "elsewhere" on the net.

Armitage, David

Projected Position : Midfielder

Date Of Birth : 16/6/88

Current Club : Morningside Qld

Height & Weight : 183cms and 79kgs.

Projected Draft Position : Late 3rd round

Pretty decent midfield prospect. Nothing outstanding but just a good
solid player. Had a couple of good games last year at the U18
Championships and looked okay at the International Rules. Very solid
boy and a good size and plenty to work with. Not exactly razzle dazzle
and loaded with flair but is capable of winning the hard ball and using
it. Prepared to work hard to lay tackles and block. Maybe not so much
physical improvement left in him and might struggle to be a full time
midfielder in the AFL Good overhead and would give him a chance to
develop as an inside midfielder and if he is not up to it he has the
size and discipline to play on the flank/pocket down back and do a job.

A good game against Calder for Queensland and he looks to have improved
since last year. Think he should get drafted now on that sort of
display. These type of good solid prospects are not that highly sought.
Built already and not lightning quick or silky. They are consistent and
do the team things and go unnoticed a little. The type we almost never
draft but would like to see each and every player considered on merit
rather than the need for each player to fit the “profile”.
Nothing wrong with a Hurn or Nathan Jones or Brock McLean type. Just
depends on each player. Armitage reminds me of Brock a little. Not as
good but that type.

Decent chance of being drafted. Late 3rd round pick at this stage.

just a caveat on this, mojo did state that they were very preliminary rankings...he might be right on where Armitage will go, but i can also tell you that he might also have changed his own rankings based on the champs and he will probably do so for the rest of the year and after draft camp....so what i am trying to say in a nutshell is that mojo wouldn't want to see people using his very early rankings as gospel now.

FWIW, i would personally have Armitage going mid to late second round.
