It seems now that we will miss the top four. Looks like the Hawks and Weagles will push up with the Crows and Swans. On our current form, we won't beat the Eagles at home next week.

Thoughts?

If we win both remaining games, we finish top 4, so your title is not quite right.

On last night's form, we won't beat WC - you are right. On the previous week's form, we would. It just depends on which Collingwood shows up. People need to settle down.

If you guys win one of your last 2 games then WCE can not pinch your spot. If you lose both then you must rely on Hawks beating WCE at the MCG last round. I would say that the top 4 spots are pretty safe just the order may change. Unless something disastrous happens to some on the top 4 teams. Still think it will be Hawks vs Pies GF.

Weagles will win today and have better percentage, so if we lose to them next week we go behind them. If we then lose to Essendon we are gone, full stop. If we beat Essendon we have to rely on you beating West Coast - which you should.

Beat WCE we finish top 4 even with a loss to the Bummers.

If we lose to WCE will have to beat the Bummers and need Hawthorn to beat WCE in rd 23.

Our % is shite.

Realistically, we will finish either third or fourth from here.

If we only beat the Bombers, and West Coast lose to the Hawks in round 23, we get fourth and end up playing the Hawks, on a Saturday Afternoon more than likely.

If we win both our games, and Sydney lose both their games (Hawks at the SCG and Cats down at sleepy) then we finish third and book our tickets for a final versus Adelaide, probably on the Saturday Night (day finals in Adelaide draw poorly).

I prefer option B, but if we end up playing the Hawks at least we'll find out early on how good of a team we really are.

A lot of it will come down to Sydney vs Hawthorn next week

Thats what its really about for mine. Last nights result was disappointing, but the Hawks are the team to beat and i'd rather know if we can beat them in week 1 of finals than GF day

We won't finish out of the 4, although of we don't beat Essendon in the last round we don't deserve to finish top 4.

We will win against Essendon. West Coast will lose to Hawks. That would get us top 4

Spot on. Like Millsy says if we cant beat the red and black rabble we don't deserve it.

It's such an even season. I could mount a strong case why any team won't win the flag. You just have to play 3 good games when it counts. We have probably done enough to finish top 4, and from then on it's an even game.

We will play Hawthorn in the first week of the finals as 1st vs 4th. We need to learn how to combat teams that rely on uncontested possession to get the ball forward. North was the sloppier version of Hawthorn last night

I wouldn't bet on Hawks beating Swans either, Sydney gave them a spanking last time in rnd 5 at aurora.
If Sydney beat Hawthorn they will finish on top, and if we win both we will finish 3rd with Hawthorn 4th and Adelaide 2nd

Whoever wins out of hawks vs swans doesn't matter if we can't learn to:
1) play against teams that look to dominate uncontested possession
2) tag the top midfielders of the opposition
3) have forwards leading adequately at the ball
4) kick the ball to our forwards' advantage

If we don't win both these games then we don't deserve to make it, we have dropped too many games now that we should have won. (losing to Carlton twice is unforgivable)

We are more than capable of winning it, if we have the attitude we did against Sydney we should win, if we have the attitude from the North match that we could just turn up and win then it will be all over by half time.

More than anything if we are going to go anywhere this year we need to start building momentum towards the finals, simply put we can't go into the finals relying on results from other matches, that's not the signs of a team who is making its own luck.

We are still a top four chance, but we need to start playing more like a top four team.

It's no good throwing everything into games like the Sydney one and win if you're going to lose to teams like North Melbourne (no disrespect to them, but we should be a better side). We just threw away our hard-fought win from last week.
