Anyone ever coached a sporting team before?

If so, please tell me how to get over the pain of losing to the opposition by 1 ****ING point, (last point scored in the last 15 secs of the match), after leading the whole match?

Btw, I coach an U12 girls basketball team. Although I know it's for fun, it still sucks.

You shouldn't take winning and losing too seriuosly for 12 yr olds. They should learn to have fun, and particpate in something healthy. Obiously the potenital is there for bigger and better things but it's about teamwork and strving for goals too.

hrm... i used to coach gymnastics, but only upto level 3. i guess it's different as its an individual sport so we didnt have to deal with losing all that much...

good luck tho! the only advice i can give is to stress the fact that they're a good team and a close loss may be a possetive turn around!

Just use it as motivation for the next match. Get the girls going, let em throw a few punches on the next opposition if need be ...

Tell the girls the best way to get back at the other side is revenge.

If that fails, tell the girls to yank the oppositions ponytails.
