Tough times ahead.....with maintaining our current playing list due to the current lack of direction. Albeit it needed to be done....(a couple of years late for that matter)

Captn Rotations - Needs to be maintained...we have too many potential leaders for this to go to waste.

Its true players wanted to play for him....so keeping all these high profile players is going to be hard.

...Mark Harvey would be great.

Who are these dimwitted stkilda supporters ringing up SEN screaming for a cleanout to include McQualter. Absolute fools.

......And this is the most disappointing thing...The board have massive questions to be answered...two stuffups in a row is embarressing....Theres alot more at fault there than what people are led to believe.

on a last note, whether you guys believe me or not......it still hurts deep...

One of the stupid innovations that caused the Saints not to win a flag.

It's going to be a very tough and nervous six months until the season starts again. Everything is now up in the air and so many things could potentially change. Whether or not it was the right thing to do there are going to be many ramifications:

- There is a now a strong possibilty of a player clean-out with all Peckett, Powell and Thompson likely to go. Players such as Brooks, Ferguson, Murray, McGough were already on very shaky ground. There is also many players who the new coach might not see as part of the future such as Ackland, Blake, Fiora, Milne and Schwarze.

- Harvey won't be pushed out the door by the new coach, but given the circumstances he might not want to stay anymore becuase he might not want to be involved with the club while it has all this insecurity. After a shaky start Thomas and Gehrig seemed to have a good relationship which held Gehrig in good stead mentally. If the next coach and Gehrig were not on the same page he might walk out of the club. However, it is fairly unlikely this will happen.

- Both Clarkes, Hamill's and Kosi's future are now a bit unclear. Thomas always seemed to give them his full backing which always kept them safe. I can't imagine that whoever comes in will get rid of any of these four but you never know. He may think the club needs a revamp.

- The players were supposebly very close to GT. I'm not sure what effect it will have on the players but I imagine they'd be fairly upset. I hope there doesn't become a rift between the players and board. I think it's very unlikely any players will leave the club but once one player leaves a few othermight leave as well.

- The rotation policy will now more than likely be dropped and the captaincy will probably go back to Nick. It will be good for Nick because it will give him the captaincy for 5 years and give him the chance to become Carey-like. But, on the other hand I wonder if it will have any effect on Bally given that the captaincy will be taken off him when there is no longer a rotating policy.

- We could now potentially become a big player in trade week with Gardiner, Everitt and Acker all on the market. GT had virtually ruled out all of them but the new coach might be interested innthem as they are the type of players we lack. I don't know whether this is good or not but I'd rather see us going for younger players.

- Another worrying thing is that it is virtually impossible for a first year coach to win a premiership. Normally, it takes a few years for the coach to grow into the role.

I hope that we can find a good coach, but at the moment there doesn't seem to be a lot of experienced coaches around which would mean we are more than likely going to have a first time coach which is a risk. I wouldn't mind Matt Rendell though. It will also be interesting to see if Jason Misfud is retained, as GT basically single-handedly recruited him from the bush.
