Well, as an all rounder and pound for pound, it is hard to go past Simmo. But the great thing is, unlike some other periods in recent history, we actually have a good bunch of guys (and now gals, for that matter) to argue over on this topic. We have a good amount of tough hombres, even if they're tough in different ways.
Doc is already one tough, uncompromising basta*d though. In years to come with even more maturity I reckon he'll monster the opposition through sheer willpower and leadership. A good footy brain combined with a will to run through brick walls for the team.

Murph, occasionally gets targeted due to being one of our few mids who can spread from the contest but still goes when it's hs turn.

Sitting here thinking about it there is one bloke who was actually left off the list but could hold claims to our toughest player.
Ciaran Byrne.
Hasn't played a lot of games for us, but gee every game he did he was hard as nails. Bloke has some serious courage and took plenty of punishment. Never shirked one contest and always put his body in harms way. The amount of times he has already been crunched is silly.
Sort of bloke everyone else would love playing with cos they know he is going to go when it's his turn.
Man I can't wait to get him back
hopefully he can get over this knee injury because I really think he could be the next big Irish player.

I think our whole starting backline is pretty tough and uncompromising. Doc, simmo, byrne, rowe, plowman and weiters will get stronger.
