From what I read, the Nuggets pulled out of the Artest deal, because they wanted a first along with Kleiza and Najera, and also Artest will opt out this season anyway... so they'd only have him for 2 months, before he leaves and finds a new team that can sign him.

They went after Delonte West afterwards... it was a nono because when they contacted West's agent, he said West will be aftera 8 million dollar extension when his contract expires this year, and so the Nuggets canceled the trade which would've sent their first, which would've end up being similar to the Varejao situation last season.

They got Taurean Greene, because they lacked depth at the point.

And also, Nene went into the Nuggets front office and convinced their GM not to trade him, and said that he will undergo chemo this week, and will be back in 2 to 3 weeks. Chucky Atkins is also back in 2 to 3 weeks.

massive + in my book.this is exactly the type of player boston needs in the play-offs.you can have your young players in the regular season but this is the guy you want spotting KG when it counts.with cassell as well Boston really are the team to beat now.

It will be interesting to see how P J fares in his comeback after having missed a large chunk of the season.

The key with Cassell is keeping him fit and on the court, if they can do that(if they sign him) it will be a great acquisition.

A second unit of Cassell, T.Allen/House, Posey, Powe and P J Brown is a fairly competent set up.

But relying on old bodies is always risky.
