I dont normally start theads on opposition boards but i found a couple of articles that might be of interest or concern before the trip to the Alice.
The Darwin surface last week was in excellent condition, as both coaches said before the game, but from these articles it looks like both teams could have more to lose than gain from this trip.

Pecking order for Traeger Park
Monday, 14 February 2005
Traeger Park's field comes under attack from a flock of galahs.
As the centre gears up for the big AFL pre-season game in just 3 weeks, all eyes are on the Traeger Park surface.
With Adelaide curator Les Burdett supervising the preparation for the marquee night in Australian football, there are some concerns as to whether the pitch will be up to standard.
With pressure on to convert the wicket in 5 days from cricket to football surface, there has been an unexpected problem to add to the mix.
An influx of galahs.
Barry Nicholls went out to take a look at the surface first hand with Alice Springs Town Council's Sports and Recreation Officer, Dale McIver.

Richmond face hard Traeger Park decision
The coach of AFL club Richmond may refuse to let his team play at Traeger Park in Alice Springs if the surface is too hard.
The AFL called off the regional challenge match between the Tigers and Fremantle earlier this month over concerns for the surface, but reinstated it after a public outcry.
Adelaide Oval curator Les Burdett has been employed to prepare the ground for the match.
Richmond coach Terry Wallace says he will make his own inspection of the ground before the match.
"We want to play. We want to put on as good a display as we possibly can for the people of Alice Springs who absolutely love their football...we want to be doing everything that we possibly can right but, in saying that, I mean we just have to have a safe workplace and we've got to make sure that that's the case," he said.
