Max Hudghton left the track early and I
doubt he will play this week.

Player By Player Analysis:

NB. If i say a player has worked hard in the forward line, midfield or stoppages, Im referring to the match simulation drill.

1. Jason Gram - Trained away from the main group. Ran laps early and then did simple sedentary ball work.

2. Steven King - Looks great, worked hard. Ball skills were good, good ruck work in match simulation.

3. Xavier Clarke - Lead hard and run freely, no reason why he's not in the best 22, should be selected in the next few weeks.

5. Ben McEvoy - Great Athlete! Work hard and ruck work coming along. Expect big things in the future.

6. Leigh Fisher - Looks great. Lost a lot of weight and bulked up. If playing well for Sandy may get back into best 22.

7. Lenny Hayes - Trained away from main group. Ran laps early and then did simple sedentary ball work.

8. Max Hudghton - Did mainly sedentary ball work, didn't run a lap. Went down the race halfway through the session. Doubt he will play this week.

10. Steven Baker - Trained away from main group. Ran laps early and then did simple sedentary ball work. Ribs are ok from heavy knock on Friday Night.

11. Leigh Montagna - Trained Well, did what was expected. Run hard through the middle. Another great 100 games on the way from him.

12. Nick Riewoldt - Trained away from main group. Jogged short 150-200M laps early and then did simple sedentary ball work. Few shots at goal. Was in high spirits.

13. Adam Schneider - Looks slim, lost any fat he gained over Summer. Few shots are goal were good, very vocal.

14. Luke Ball - Ran laps with Dal Santo and Eddy for bulk of the session. Has put on a lot of muscle.

15. Michael Gardiner - Ran laps for most of the session and did some simple ball work. Left the track early.

16. Raphael Clarke - Trained away from main group. Did simple sedentary ball work. Left the track early.

17. Colm Begley - Trained away from main group. Did simple sedentary ball work. Left the track early.

18. Brendon Goddard - Ran hard and did some very nice things. Ball skills are fantastic. Very vocal, future captain.

19. Sam Gilbert - Trained with the main group early, then did kicking practice with Dawson.

20. David Armitage - Trained away from main group. Ran laps early then did simple sedentray ball work.

21. Nicholas Heyne - Put on a bit of muscle since i last saw him. Ran hard and read the ball well. Expect him to play well with Sandy during the year.

22. Farren Ray - Trained away from main group. Ran laps early then did simple sedentary ball work.

23. Justin Koschitzke - Absent

24. Sean Dempster - Did mainly sedentary ball work, didn't run a lap. Went down the race halfway through the session.

25. Sam Fisher - Trained with the main group early, then had trouble with a right calf. Went down to the rooms about halfway through the session. Spoke to him after training and no that bad, some doubt but should play this week.

26. Nick Dal Santo - Ran laps with Ball and Eddy for bulk of the session. Knee was heavily strapped. Looks fit and switched on for a big '09.

27. Jason Blake - Trained with the main group early and then moved into the smaller group. Did a bit of jogging and sedentary ball work.

28. Rhys Stanley - Worked hard in the forward line. Was a standout amongst the younger players. Can kick a ball 55+ If playing well for Sandy may get a game later in the year. Needs to bulk up first tho.

29. Tom Lynch - Looks good, still a little skinny. Ran hard in the forward line. Needs to put in some good weeks at Sandy to be up for senior contention.

30. Brad Howard - Hard runner around stoppages, needs more bulk before another senior's game.

31. Matt Maguire - HUGE! Trained away from the main group. Did some simple sedentary ball work. Doubt hell play for a couple more weeks.

32. Andrew McQualter - Trained well and ran hard through the midfield. Very vocal and a few nice shots at goal.

33. James Gwilt - Got a nice V8 Turbo engine in his car. Didnt do much, just simple ball work. Left the track early. Should retain spot in 22.

34. Jack Steven - Trained in the Goal Square by himself, doing agility work. Later joined smaller group for ball work.

36. Jarryd Allen - Trained away from the main group. Did simple sedentary ball work. No longer on crutches. Will be a long year for the young man to watch from the sidelines.

37. Eljay Connors - Ran hard, slow to make decisions. Kicking in front of goal was poor. Needs to bulk up.

38. Clinton Jones - Very solid, hard worker who trains like he plays.

39. Alistair Smith - Didnt stand out, did what he had to do and got the job done. Needs to bulk up.

40. Robert Eddy - Ran laps with Ball and Dal Santo for bulk of the session. Knee was heavily strapped. Did some ball work after running. Little sloppy. Looks fit and may gain senior selection again soon.

41. Paul Cahill - Trained away from main group. Did simple sedentary ball work. Some good kicks in front of goal.

42. Jarryn Geary - Worked hard through the middle, skills were sharp and goal kicking was accurate.

43. Zac Dawson - Ball skills were good, trained with main group then did kicking practice with Gilbert.

44. Stephen Milne - Very loud, funny and trained well. Kicking and snap shots were accurate.

45. Luke Miles - Trained with main group, didn't do much to stand out, ball skills were good, Hit the target 98% of the time.

46. Khan Haretuku - Big unit, trained well and ran well as a run up type forward.

47. Tom Simpkin - Ran well in the forward line and kicked some nice set shot goals. Needs to bulk up.

48. Blake McGrath - Tall, skinny and legs as long a behind post. Good development ruckman with a nice kick on him.

49. Steven Gaertner - Tallish, and has a little bit of muscle. Didnt do much to stand out. Needs to add some bulk, runs hard and took a few nice marks.

50. Ross Tungatalum - Absent

51. Sam McGarry - Small, and looks about 16. Kicked some nice set shots and run hard in the forward line.

Overall it was a relatively low key training session with many key players not doing much. Everyone was in high spirits and looked to be enjoying their footy. I would expect Max to play, and i think Sam Fisher will play on Saturday.

Thanks heaps.
Bit worried about Chips, our backline is already a bit stretched.
Oh and before everyone has a heart attack, Kosi was at a funeral. (no pun intended)
One player i look forward to seeing is big Kahn Haretuku, not expecting too much but will be interesting to see how he progresses.
Appreciate the effort Fish. :):thumbsu:

Great stuff SammyFish, although I laughed at Leigh Fisher "lost a lot of weight and bulked up". Look forward to one of Stanley/McGrath/Haretuku/Gaertner making the grade along with Macca.

Awesome job SFish, you've passed the audition & got the gig! Very comprehensive & even analysis across the board! Also lol'd at LFish's yoyo body type ;)
