Awesome movie. I've seen it about 15 times but it's still a ripper. '' Alonzo '' is a straight up gangster in this, Denzel couldn't have played it any better.

One of my favourite movies of all time.

Its a great movie to a point but loses its way and is ultimately undercooked, which is typical of most David Ayer films.

I'm a big Denzel fan (and always enjoy Hawke), but Antoine Fuqua is one of the most reliably mediocre directors out there for me. His best effort possible is barely worth a thumbs up. Fuqua has made a few solid films, but I've promised myself to never get excited about anything he makes ever again, and this low expectation has held me in good stead for at least a decade.
