I just don't understand how people can keep underestimating this group - but specifically how they can keep writing of Fly?I like it when people underestimate us. It'll be all the more satisfying if we wave to them as we zoom past on our way up the ladder.
Ahh, footy must be about to start. We're being written off already...Hawks did 40 min of proper match sim, wonder if we will do something like that tomorrow before they take the 4 day break
Yes,it happens every year with the media.Weāre always one of the first sides to be written off.Ahh, footy must be about to start. We're being written off already...
...just like in 2022, 2023 and 2025
Hear hear! Or is it here here?Thank You...!
To all of our fellow supporters who make the time, attend training and then go to the effort of sharing your observations and analysis with all of us is truly fantastic and it MUST be the envy of other clubs and those clubs supporters.
I wonder if the club could create a supporter page, take these contributions and insert them onto our CFC website for our huge fanbase to appreciate and marvel at the lengths our fellow passionate supporters go to...?
Go Pies..;-)

Bunch of idiots. They would fit in well at HawthornI saw a lot of the media at hawks training this morning- donāt askI was doing a favour for someone.

Degoey is the key. If he's fit and firing and Nick and Long continue to improve their inside games our midfield will be good.Thank you all those who have posted training reviews.
Fingers crossed, not a lot of injury concern regarding those younger draftees in the 19 to 22 year old bracket. We will definitely need one, two or three of those guys to develop if CFC is to be competitive this year.
Structurally, I'm a little concerned with the forward line, the health of Beau and Bobby is huge. Beau's midfield presences will be important too and Bobby is simply a freak, inconsistent but still a freak.
Chekers is a big loss too, Buller looks like a sound investment and both West and Howes were exciting at different stages in the VFL last year. Can see their potential and hopefully both play a part this year.
I'm less concerned about the back line and with Cornes' opinion. If CFC produce the same team defense as last year they will be competitive once again this year and there's solid back up IMO.
Midfield is a big concern for me, the depth looks shallow, and lacks quality talent at this stage of the lists development. Obviously, the health of DeGoey is a important piece of the puzzle but outside DeGoo and the Daicos brothers, it looks like theirs not enough players that can perform at the required standard consistently this year. Siddy and Pendles will play a part/role but don't expect the same standard as past seasons when the two were in their prime.
Obviously their are a number of names that will get the opportunity and hopefully one or two of them steps up to support DeGoo, Cameron and the Daicos'.
I'm not as optimistic as others regarding CFC's potential this year which is okay! Fly is a good coach and well supported. CFC will be competitive but my gut feel

I think we will contend again. I love the fact that most of the opposition supporters expect us to slide into oblivion. Nothing would be more delicious than to be contending again.Thank you all those who have posted training reviews.

CFC will be competitive but my gut feeling the team lacks a little spunk, a good healthy smattering of above average talent across all lines to win when it counts against the Northern academies, Freo and the perennial VIC power house clubs.
I hope I'm wrong, go Pies!
Not if we had hung onto the good back up we already had!We need one of our young key forwards ( West or Buller ) and young key backs ( Reef or Smit if he can make huge improvements ) to stand up and cement a permanent spot.
Everywhere else on the field I think we can fill, although it would be a struggle if we lost Cameron for any significant time, but that would happen to any side if they lost their main ruck ( perhaps only Freo wouldnāt be affected)
Any side with Naicos is going to be a danger
But not 2024...Ahh, footy must be about to start. We're being written off already...

Yep and imagine if we still had GrundyNot if we had hung onto the good back up we already had!

A few different drills. Some similar. But geez they are big boys. Lots of talls taking marks in the air.How did their training compare to ours?

ā regularsā Is a loose term and always in a state of flux. This year itās not the regulars we need but an orderly transition away from over reliance on themYou need a big year from most of your regulars to win it. But this year we need a lift from McStay, De Goey, Houston and a good run with injuries from blokes like Howe, Moore, Pendles. And to see guys line West, Steele, Parker, Harrison to really come on.
Is McStay that bad?!ā regularsā Is a loose term and always in a state of flux. This year itās not the regulars we need but an orderly transition away from over reliance on them
We need Buller not McStay
We need McInnes not Howe
We need to not overly rely on Pendles and Sidey
Etc etc
Definitely need Moore and Jordy to stay fit
And we definitely need to see great moves forward from the young players you mentioned plus one or two others.

Never said that. Just need to look to the future. He shouldnāt be essential to our short term success and Buller who has been recruited for that ruck forward role should be expected to make a pretty immediate impact. Is McStay that bad?!![]()
