What better way to shake off the mid week blues than lunch at The Royal washed down with a frosty or two, followed by a short stroll down Napier St. to Windy Hill. She was shrouded in mist and fog, but there was no dampening the fire of the young Dons under the tutelage of Matty Knights.
The good: Gumby moving freely, sure to play for Bendigo. Neagle, they call him "The Anvil" in some quarters, puffing away through the middle, but showing no signs of last weeks problem. Jobe looked cool, sure to play. Reimers, could be anything this kid, a second generation Hardwick ? Was that Alwyn on the field in the handball drills ?.
The Bad: JJ, Darcy Hocking and Lee out of commission. No sign of young Hislop either.
The Ugly: Poor old Jason, sprayed a simple pass to a target 25 meteres up the ground and was berated by Lloydy and I quote " that is the type of thing that is killing us" ( expletives deleted). Jason trundled back to the centre head hanging in shame. Notwithstanding that, he may get the nod this week.
