Any of you draft aficionados have a opinion of this kid. I hear Geelong are very interested in him despite the poor carnival and is in the frame for pick 7. Looking through the various profiles most have him pegged as a second round but he wont last till 23 according to my mail and we all know Wells takes player he wants and often casts aside popular opinion.

Obviously I have not see him and defer to the draft watchers on this one.

Just a word on Joel Sellwood as well clubs would be wise to pass on him with top ten pick, the problems with his knees run deeper than one reco. I know for a fact the eagles had him over 2/12 years ago so its Doctor could look at his knees as a good will gesture to the family. Would be a big gamble taking a kid with a degenerative knee problem. I like the kid and have seen him play in Bendigo since he was a young lad but I doubt he will be a 200 game player which is what you want from top ten pick.

If we were to take Boak with pick 7 I would be furious - in this draft he is not worthy of a first round pick let alone pick 7. I saw him play in the first U18 championship game and he looked ordinary and out of his depth. Maybe that was one bad game but if Wells is going to try and be a smart arse and take him with our first pick he should be out the door. If he is keen on him he should take him with pick 25, if he is gone by then, bad luck, there are plenty of other good players to be had with this pick.

Boak's probably out of our reach; shouldn't really be in contention for Pick 7, and isn't likely to fall to our 2nd Rounder.

I like him though; tidy skills, handy pace, touch of class, and will run-and-carry.

I agree too. I've seen him play 4 times and in each game his skills were shocking! Not what we need at Geelong. Especially at pick 7!

He's been injured a lot this year, so he doesn't have a great rating on BF, but Collingwood and St Kilda are keen on him and may pick him up at #8, #9 or #10 should Geelong fail to pick him at #7.

I think everyone down at catland is very happy we did get Selwood (who incidently I hoped we would take pre-draft) rather than Boak.

lived in torquay and played for falcons dad died so incentive to come bck 2 family + his mum cried when she found out he had to go to port and he barracked for geelong hes also got alot of potential as a fast line breaking midfielder

What an ignorant and unintelligent statement How could you possibly know that Boak has limited potential??? Eh?

Boak was regarded as an elite talent prior to the draft - the only reason why you did not hear so much about him is because 2006 was a super draft, and because he was injured prior to the U18 champs and thus did not play very well. The coach of the Falcons said he was the best kid to pass throught the team since Luke Hodge in 2001 (5 years ago). I for one, was disappointed we did not get him - though Selwood's early season form has tempered my feelings somewhat. I'm fairly confident that had be been available at pick 7, Geelong would have taken him.

He would have at least a 2 year contract at PA at the moment ( and has only been there 6 months) so this whole discussion is so lame it isnt funny.
