He is uner contract for 2009. Thing is he is held in very high regard by the coaching staff.I tend to think he will be given another year, I just sense if he can get his body right he will hit the ground running when given the opportunity.

the Kel moore story has underlined the virtue of a little patience with some of these kids,, casserley and perhaps Meyer may well be another couple of cases. as soon as they're out of the AFL system they will go into freefall. May as well hang on for another year

good call.

if anything the Kel Moore saga has shown me that "maybe" the coaching staff know a thing or two more about a player than we will ever know.

unless your in the inner sanctum or go to every session, everyday, its all speculation.

Meyer and Casserly are highly regarded by the coaching staff, especially Meyer, so this time round i am inclined to cut them slack.

Meyer on his return from injury has put in 4 great games over the last 4 weeks at the burgs and is starting to show confidence and agression in his football. Add the known quantities such as class and speed and the potential is obvious.

He is also starting to find the ball too, which was one of his biggest flaws in previous seasons.

They say Casserly can "land it on a coin" he's that good a kick. I think Flea??? said hes one of the best kicks at the club and we all know he knows a thing or two about footy.

The injury gods will eventually tire of Cass and move on and when they do i hope he comes out and starts showing the potential the coaching staff always believed he had, just like Meyer is starting to show now.

Do you really think we should delist Casserly??? or are you just stirring th epot.

One more season left on his contract one more season to see what the kid has got. If by reports what I have heard and on this one I was speaking to someone involved at the club that knows the kid well, Cass has all the tools and an extreme desire to play top level football at Richmond.

Yer but Kel Moore had periods of 3-6 months injury free where he could actually train and play while I can't recall Travis playing more then 4 consecutive games. His hamstrings and soft tissue in his legs must be ****ed.

He can seriously play, they will give him every opportunity to get right.
If/when he gets right, we have a player on our hands

The question I have to ask is what have the fitness staff done in regards to his injuries? He has never had a long time off but has never managed more than 4 games at a time. Could we not give him the same opportunity Coughlan received or at least try something different since what they are doing is not working.

Delist him this year and then pick him up as a rookie. With Howat, Carts and the Big Cat likely to be removed from the rookie list, we have one available for Travis. The rookie list may be a great place for JON also:mad:

Tough decision to make to send a fringe player overseas for treatment. The cost is large and my understanding is that Cogs dad funded a lot of it, not the club (owns a mining company). For a treatment that may or may not be effective in that it is not proven, its a lot of money to spend on a guy who may not make it.

I have a feeling he will get delisted, but if he is as good as everyone here seems to think, we should rookie list him if we can.

he would go before alot of others so he might go. hes been on our list for 3 years and hasnt played a game so if there is still a spot for him on our list then fine. maby we should rookie him but thats not up to us

He is contracted to next year so is it worth wasting the money to delist him?

It would not be a problem to delist him if we didnt give him a 2 year deal last year on the basis of nothing. And then we could have delisted and rookied him but it would be a waste of money now.

Keep for another year to see out the contract.

If we sack him then we have learnt nothing from the improvement of a 24 year old Backman that was on the cards for AA honours..

The big difference here Nut is that in 3 years Cass hasnt managed a single AFL game. Surely someone with any kind of potential would have managed to get a guernsey once or twice in 3 years. Kel Moore certainly had, same for McGuane, even JON and Meyer. I reckon Travis would be on shaky ground, contract or not.

Moore is 24.... Casserly just turned 21... the kid can play.
