Some of last year's Copeland Winning form would be nice :D

Trav needs to step up from his mediocre start to this year and bring it home in the last half on the season.

As you said, has become indispensable and needs to be on the park for the remainder of the season in good form

no doubt its time for trav to take the mantle , as our power forward.but hes going to need a chop out, with our resting ruck playing ,up forward as well.

If not chpped, then held by one arm to stop him getting 2 hands to the contest when he's wrestling. He needs to just get on his bike, and we need to put it where he can mark in front rather than having to stop and prop.

He NEEDS to step up. Our forward numbers are decreasing, some through injury and others through inconsistency. With not many tall options he needs to step up & provide a contest, lead hard, take good marks & kick GOALS!
There's only so many times we can rely on our small forwards to kick our goals and win us games. Travis has to step up. For himself and for the team.

If he doesn't, and continues with some of this inconsistent form, we should be worried......

I agree - Just not hope he is 1 of those 1 Year Wonders but I think he need another tall down there because he is not handling being the only tall very well

its like hes taken angry pills the last few games aswell lol

the queens bday thing where he had 3 dees on him was priceless , he looked like he was about to snap all three if he had the chance. i love the agression , hope he uses it more for the contests though and through his tackling aswell.

Agree with all the above.

Only problem being that now he will be the one who atracts the best defender every week from the opposition, and yet the expectations on him will be greater without Rocca.

He will certainly need plenty of support for the remainder of the year, from Anthony, Dawes, Brown or whoever.

the support in the forward is crucial for him but he needs to get back to his b&f form, he has had it in fits and spurts, we need it on a consistent basis now! come on trav!!

I think if we decide we rely on Clokey to carry us the rest of the season we are stuffed. We need to be more adaptable now.

We have enough variety up forward to keep most defenses under pressure, the doggies game showed that.

We also need to look at what the Dogs did two years ago with a small mobile forward line. It can work if you have the right players & we do. Let Clokey do what he does best - a leading CH forward, lets not park him inside 50 & expect him to win us games & kick 5 every week.

i dont think its a case of clokey carrying us , its more providing the presence up forward since he is the lone big man. doing this provides our smaller forwards with more chances

He needs to stop leaning back when he kicks. His kicking style leaves me with no confidence.
Also i know there was a thread on this a few weeks ago but is it just me or does he not seem to get much of a pat on the back when he kicks a goal? Is this because the players are being professional or they just don't like him much?

Get angry Trav! He's a well built bloke, I want to see hard fast leads and running through anyone stupid enough to get in his way.

I like the fact Travey is becoming more confident and showing he has a bit of mongrel in him. Shouldnt be copping cr@p from hacks like Setanta.... I dont know why we dont try playing Goldsack in the forward line. We were struggling early on Anzac day untill the move was made to get Goldsack into the forward line. If my memory serves me correctly we kicked well over 20 goals that game, and our forward line looked very dangerous, with Medders and Trav controlling the forward 50 and our smaller forwards pushing up the ground. Goldsack will make good leads, can take a good grab, Make a contest and lets face it he has a crack....

I think Trav is struggling this year because he is always getting the number 1 defender. I don't think people (mostly opposition supporters) realise how important Rocca is. All through his career at Collingwood he has always got the best defender. Even though he may play the odd bad game he always makes a contest and some days when he is 'ON' he is unstoppable. This is why he should play on next year even if he only plays 10 - 12 games.

Back to Trav. This will be a learning experience. Remember he is only 21.

You make a good point but I think Goldy showed his worth in defence against the Doggies. Works very well with Heater and if heater's on song we are a lot better team.

We really need to keep him on the park for the remainder of year.

Need him in great form with our thinning tall forwards.

Can't afford to lose him thru injury or suspension, has become extremely valuable and indispensable.

What are your thoughts??
Gee you don't say!?!

I agree, Molloy, J Clo and Maxwell have been used in that forward defensive pressure role but the sack is more mobile and creative than the lot in addition to being v good defensively, would be worth trying to cultivate him in that role.
