Will 2007 be a big year for cloke? Will he take Tarrants old spot or will cloke play in a different position?

We need it to be a big year for him. He played a spare parts role last year, while this year he'll replace Rocca as our main CHF target, playing a traditional role there. Rocca will play our of the goalsquare and Rusling will play the long leading role of Tarrant - the floating HFF style.

that is what i hope happens too

and throw in Buckley playing a Hird, i can go where i want when it suits me, type role and should be very strong again

Medhurst could be an option for a leading target from the square too, great hands he has!!

Massive Year for Cloke!

Cloke and Rusling need to kick on over the next 2 years. If they both have good solid years and show some match winning potential here and there I will be very happy.

I agree, I think Medhurst is a underrated player. I have watched him for years and laways liked him as a player. He doesn't really play taller than he is but he just has the strong marking hands of a big CHF/FF. I think that this fresh start with Collingwood, not having the throat problems and being fitter than ever which will be a big boost for him and also prove to be a good asset for Collingwood. We do need a 30-40 goal year outta him!

It's his third year coming up and he was drafted as an infant.

I will settle for steady improvement this year.

Still though physically he didnt really have the body of a 17yo when he started. They say year 2 is a tough one for the kids. He's had that....Time to take that next step Trav! And Im sure he will. 2007 will be a big year for most of our kids.

Rusling has said he wants to take over from Tarrant, whereas Travis Cloke will hold down CHF. Malthouse wants them to step up another notch. I'm confident in their ability to kick goals and apply pressure when the ball is in dispute.

With an ageing Rocca (I mean, c'mon, he aged at the halfway mark of 2006), and no Tarrant, Cloke is set to make a big mark as a CHF, but his versatility gives us that option, however, he is a CHF and this is the year where he can show his consistency as a forward.

In 2005, his debut year, as a minor, he was fantastic filling a void. In 2006 he provided something in the seconds as a phase of development, being a tall utility, and his form and requirements in the ones weren't needed with mostly a full list.

With 30 games of experience, and 2 years of development, he is ready for a big year.

Rocca or Cloke at CHF Rusling at FF, It should be good
I hope Cloke and Rus can get up and play some good footy this year.
i like rusling out of the square, he looks to me to be better leading from the square staying in range of goal.i see him as 2 dimensional not a creative half foward who sets up play

last year we had the best attack in the league and we didnt have brilliant seasons from many of our foward players( didak and rocca(early form) excluded and tarrant was handy too). this year we will again take that mantle.. IMO we have the best foward line in the afl... mick has made sure most of our players can kick goals..(the real reason for tarrants sacking IMO)

this year Clokey will take major stirdes in becoming our own wayne carey..... he has a big strong body... this year he'll realise this and use it to our advantage. i expect plenty from this young gun... rusling will continue his meteoric rise to stardom... NEON LEON, DAISY, and EEEEEEEGS.... some good prospects there....... we will see plenty of goals this year....

We probably need a bit of help from Travis Cloke this year, because in his first season, we can probably only expect 50-60 goals from Martin Clarke.

Of course, it won't really make a difference who else does what by Clarke's 2nd year, when he kicks 260 goals playing at Full Back.

It's gonna be a big year for Wayne Carey, I mean Wayne Cloke, I mean Travis Cloke.
This boy is gonna be big.
From his first contested footy I have expected big things from this guy.
Second half of the year he is going to shine.
This year I expect him to start using more body strength.
Truth is, he is getting bigger and bigger in size.
By next year I doubt many defenders will be able to contain him.
Big year for Carey, I mean Clokey.

I agree. All we need from these to is to keep heading north. I reckon cloke is our best youngster but I don't expect him to dominate this year. I expect him to continually get better of the next 2-3 years.

People tend to get a little carried away with wanting young players to dominate almost from the word go.

With good young kpps I expect their 3rd year to be a consolidation year and then year 4 and 5 for them really hit their straps. Anything else is a bonus.

Saw him out Saturday night on the town... Looking very Fit & Strong. Should see his Guns (biceps) :thumbsu:

Ill try get you some pictures on Sunday, because i will be heading down to the training and the family day because i can't go to any other trainings because school is back.
