Just wondering when Trave is going to take the next step in his development and really take a game by the scruff of the neck, i understand he is still very young but i am absolutely petrified that he will stall and become another dud cloke.....

Watched any footy this year????

you are kidding arnt u

-if t-rav had of kicked straight anzac day would of been BEST on ground
-Straight against Carlton would of been BEST on ground

If Trav had of kicked alot better this year wouldnt be far behind Tarks in B&F

Worst thread of the year...seriously, I pose the same question augie asked, Have you watched any football this year?

Travis Cloke was the no.1 scoring forward the last month!!! If he had kicked straight, he would've been the best thing going round. He was the best forward at the Gabba (better than Clark), he was the best forward ANZAC Day, best forward v Carlton, etc. etc.

You are kidding yourself, the way he has attacked the contest, lead and been an all round team player this year at just 21 i think he is on the verge of being a superstar along with pendles, once trav starts kicking straight, which he will as he is a beautiful kick,he will be a champ......MARK MY WORDS

As CHF go this year so far he wouldn't be far off being the best. If he had kick straight then he would be the best at the moment. Before people jump on me I'm not saying he is the best CHF in the AFL, I'm saying you take away names and his stats are as good as anyone's.

Thats what happens when you get Rookie posters.

If he could kick straight, would be in the top two CHF's in the comp this season, just behind Scotty 'No Right Foot' Lucas.

He is the best forward in the competition under the age of 23.

Yes better than Franklin

well i would certainly disagree, as you say IF he had of kicked straight, there is still a major flaw in his game that needs to be corrected. yes he has been very good, but so was Jason Cloke in his first couple of seasons, my point is he still is required to take the step that jason failed to. in regards to letting rookies post, since when has being a part of BIGFOOTY qualify anyones opinion over anyone elses?

I just hope we don' have to qualify our statements about him with 'if he kicked straight' for much longer.

Rocca looked to have found the secret last night, just kick through it, no matter where you are!

The way Trav just nailed that bomb from 55m was impressive, its when he goes back and really sets himself when he seems to miss. Needs to stay loose and smooth.

Anyone watch On the Couch this week? Was amazed to hear that Richo goes back 22 paces for every kick for goal! I'm all for a routine, but keep it natural, not forced. I reckon Cloke is falling into the same trap.

Having said all that, he's been super impressive this year. People can gush over Buddy all year if they like, but I'll take Cloke thanks. Really showing strength over head and body on body contests. Leading hard up field and providing a genuine target. Much like a Chris Tarrant in 2003 (if only he could kick straight ;) )

One of the best marks going around for his age, he is a bit like Franklin, big blokes who if the kick straight could do great things

Yeah the operative word there being "IF" and as far as I'm concerend that is a very large "IF". It might seem only if, but its a fair challenge for him to get over that. It is a technique floor that he may or may not be able to overcome, depending on how entrenched that style is in his head and how capable he is of changing.

To me it just looks like on set shots he leans back too far and seems to spray it off the outside of his left boot. If he leant over the ball a bit more or just not lean back so savagely he'd have more control over the drop and the contact of the ball with his foot.

I hope he can fix it, but it remains to be seen whether or not he his capable of such a change.
