From what has been in the media, Haselby wants more money than Freo are prepared to offer. If another club is willing to pay him the $400K+ that he reportedly wants, surely they must rate him reasonably highly and of some value?

Thats the key part of that part.

Are we chasing Johnstone or are Melbourne Chasing Haselby?

He wants to move or be moved on because Bailey will implement a more accountable brand of footy which Johnstone being a free wheeling and unaccountable "outside" midfielder will find near impossible to be apart of.

There could be a few more of the free wheelers being moved on from the Dees

Dunn for Johnstone.

When I first read that I thought of Lynden Dunn and thought to myself "Why is Melbourne trading within its own club?"

I'd like to get Haselby but I'd rather use Johnstone to get Judd if he was indeed needed in such a trade.

I like him as a player (don't have a problem with outside mids) and he would improve the side but I'd rule him out on age. We wouldn't get enough years out of him to make up for what we would have to give melbourne.

I agree with you Tony. Johnstone is one of the best deliverers by foot in the competition, despite being a weak soft outsiderish player that Dom is likely to write hate-posts about ;). But his age should rule him out automatically.

The longer Haselby takes time to make up his mind, the longer Richmond or Carlton have to talk him into going there for NOTHING via PSD.

If he's still to be signed by trade week...he must go....we can't lose out.
