that's terrific news, the Doc is usually spot on with his assessments (pretty tightly knit group all the club medicos) so he's got word on it and be good outcome if it's just a precaution rather than having it taped up and getting him to run it out like most others would do

I would think the most important thing for Varcoe is match conditioning and getting some run into his legs, hence why he did not start as the Sub.

The fact he only got 17min in stead of 70-80min might say more about whether he plays next week than the actual injury it self.

If he was to be any chance of playing finals he had to be exposed to the full heat of a game. Being aerobically fit isn’t enough.

Great news regarding the likely outcome of the injury. A bit of a setback to his finals hopes nonetheless.

If he's right to play next week, he's got to keep being tested. He'll be superaware of anything in the foot/ankle and it might not be serious.
Let's see what the report is during the week, they are on top of it all.

They've only been playing Walker for the last month because first West was injured and then Orren was, meaning they've never had 2 fit ruckmen at the same time so they have had no choice to play him. Now we have 2 fit ruckmen we can do away with Walker who's doing nothing in the ruck anyway.

Trust me, omitting Walker will take about 0.5 sec of their decision making this week. It's the isues surrounding should they play Varcoe, and whether any of Guthrie or Murdoch keep their spot etc that will take up most of their time.
