Cant have been easy for Hogg to sit on his hands all summer and then be expected to come out and bowl well at international level. It does take time to adjust.

White is overated and is a crap-allrounder in every sense of the words. Average bat and average ball. We would be better going for a more specialised option because at the moment would would be better getting 2 overs from Hussey, Ponting and whoever else wants a trundle.

Cameron White
First Class average 36.63
ODI Average 17.08

Brad Hogg
First Class Average 34.38
ODI Average 20.00

Hogg offers as much with the bat as the Victorian love child does and offers a better bowling option

What have FC Averages got to do with One day matches? Why didnt you compare List A averages? Was it because your arguement is severely flawed

I was comparing Voges to Hogg.

Kudos for looking up the useless stats though.

Ok if you want to use that arguement, I could just as easily say that by White only bowling 21 overs this summer that its not easy to bowl the odd over here and there esspecially consider hes only played about a dozen games. Just stop making rediculous excuses. That is one of the lousiest excuses i've heard. If Hogg cant perform he shouldn't be playing at the top level. Besides according to the man Hogg himself a couple weeks back "hes bowling the best he ever has".

Hogg would have bowled more overs than WHite did during the Commbank series as Hogg was continuously released to go and play for WA where he struggled to have an impact

white has no confidence atm and i blame ponting and warne for that

voges is twice the bowler and batter white is

whites average in australia
= 30.64
voges' average in australia
= 40.26

no doubt a better batsman

If you want to play the stats game:

White's bowling averages: FC= 38.38, ODD= 35.06, E/R 5.29
Voges' bowling averages: FC= 52.72, ODD= 49.55, E/R 5.30

I'll forgive the .01 superiority in ER :), however I think the 'twice the bowler' is a bit harsh coming from someone who uses stats to validate his 'twice the batter (batsman)' call.

White has to dump the bowling, get really serious with his batting, just bat, bat and then bat some more.

He'll never be anything as a 'bit of this, bit of that' player.

:thumbsu:

He needs to dump the leg spin as well.

Should start bowling medium pace or offies in the nets.

was a generalisation and a broad statement :p not intended to be taken seriously, but voges is a superior bat and probley could of sent down plenty of cheap overs today

I'll assume by 'probley' you mean 'probably'.

Voges' ODD bowling average is 49.55 and has an E/R of 5.3. The ground is tiny, the pitch was a batsman's paradise and NZ batted very well, what makes you think Voges 'probably could of sent down plenty of cheap overs today'?

If you meant 'probably', I think your prediction has very weak foundations.
If 'probley' was not an attempt to spell 'probably' and instead a word meaning something like 'unlikely, I agree.

Totally agree. His leggies have been badly shown up at international level, but I reckon he could reinvent himself as a Symonds/Mark Waugh style medium/offie bowler.
