Having seen a few Triple's now- Taylor, Hayden and Clarke for Aus, both of Sehwags, Both of Gayles Lara's 400, Jayawaradene's 374 and some of Younis Khans 313 I thought about which one was the best and fun to watch in my own opinion.

Obviously the Sehwag 300's were enjoyable, especially the one off 304 balls a a SR of 104 but the whole time watching you just had to take the fact they were hit on flat tracks into consideration

Gayle hitting 9 sixes and making 333 of 467 balls was entertaining, Lara's 400 was pure class and determination but was a pretty selfish dig, unlike Clarkey's

My Favorite to this day is still Hayden's, although vs a pretty average test side, to watch him get to a then test world record the way he did, in pure Haydos style was a treat. And I to this day still throw the DVD in to watch the highlights

Just wondering, of those lucky enough to see a few 300's, what was your favorite !

i always enjoyed tubby's 334, for a man who was an innings away from being removed from the test side a year previous to score a triple century the way he did will always be pretty special for me.

Remember Jayawaradene's, his partnership with Sangakarra was amazing.

I don't rate Haydos anywhere near Clarke's. It was against Bangas and our side was never under any threat whatsoever. Clarke came in at 3/37 and played at the same quick pace for the entire innings, playing shots to every part of the ground. It was a brilliant innings on a sporting pitch against the world's no.2 team. Clarke's is right up there in my opinion, with the all time best knocks.

No, it was against Zimbabwe.

But I agree with the sentiments. :)

I've managed a couple more. Watched Bob Cowper's 307 when I was a kid against England in 1965-66, the first 300 ever made in Australia. I was also about for Bob Simpson's 311 although at my then tender young age I knew nothing about the game hence have no memory.

Yep, fantastic knock. :thumbsu::thumbsu:

Mind you this Clarke triple is pretty special.

Not sure I'd put Clarke's in there.

Had a few elements, but no better than a good double century in my book.

Why not. One of those elements was the part when he came in at 3/37. Fair effort making 329no from there. So he was there for 631 runs. It was a brilliant innings and made at good pace. If he didn't declare he'd still be batting.

I stand corrected, but yeah, my point still stands :) It was a fun innings to watch, but it really shouldn't be classed anywhere near Clarke's, Bradman's or Taylor's 300s.
