That's what this magnificent football club is all about. Whether it was rising above our horrendous early days as the perennial cellar-dwellers, the rule changes and shake-ups designed purely to curb our dominance in the 80s, the club as we know it almost dying in the mid-90s, and more recently winning flag after flag despite massive injury lists and our coach getting crook, to now with the severe illness befalling one of our absolute favourite sons, this club is strong as a ten-ton ox and will survive and prosper.

I just wanted that said.

I'm worried what will happen next year if we win.

It seems we always get hit with something bigger each time we win it. First was Buddy leaving and Clarko's illness, our injuries horror run and now Roughy :(.

Hope we can kick the bad luck right in it's ugly face and win in spite of the circumstances. Do it for Roughy :thumbsu:

Yeah, forgot to mention Buddy leaving. Maybe it just didn't seem as important in the greater scheme of things...

Definitely right about that.

'The harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly; it is dearness only that gives everything its value.
I love the man that can smile in trouble, that can gather strength from distress and grow brave by reflection.'
Thomas Paine.

Believer's defeat Kings.

The only downside to Franklin leaving is we didn't get a better deal for him. The strength of Hawthorn is the people who want to be a part of what's going on, not those who leave the club in the name of self aggrandisement.

And not leave the club in search of 'more premierships', and then subsequently misses out on two more, including an utter demolition of the team he went to. So hilarious!
