Yes , they can use it part of deal if Port are happy to do it. But no matter who has it , it can not be used 2012. Because of this , my guess would be that the expansion clubs would value it higher than a club that may want an immediate replacement of talent.
I could even imagine a 3 or 4 way trade. It depends on what Port feel the need.

Lets say , Geelong , Port , GC , GWS all sit down around the table.

Geelong get Boak
GWS get Cats comp pick & Cats player
GC get mini draft pick
Port - gold coast kid XX &/or early draft pick

We can also ice the deal with some trimming of late picks but you get the idea. The advantage Geelong still have a real pick in the first round to pick Menzel or whoever

Thats my thinking, really its the only chance we have to snare both Boak and Menzel and clearly neither are any certainty anyway just on their own.
One way to find out but gee we would be DAMN lucky to get both those 2 kids...

Heard a top 10 draft guestimate on SEN the other night and the bloke (sorry, didn't catch his name but sure seemed to know his stuff) had Troy going at 3. If the kid keeps playing the way he does he'll be gone well and truley before our first pick.

Turbo is spot on. Unless we can manufacture a spectacular draft pick deal we have a snowflakes of getting him. Seeing him in the hoops anytime soon is a pipe dream - unfortunately.

As talented as he is I think we have higher priorities than Menzel2 atm. If you consider him predominantly a med forward (he can push into the middle) then with SJ, Motlop and Menzel1 (even Smedts and Duncan on top of this and possibly Kersten and Murdoch from the last draft) we are pretty well catered for his "type" of player. Would we have a thread on him if he didn't have his brother playing for us?

Troy's not going top 3 with LARS in him. Not with the other options available.

That said, he'll be gone before our first pick I think.
