Ok, so who here uses / used to use marijuana? Just interested in hearing different opinions on the issue.

I know things like this have been discussed before, but the topics strangely disappear quite quickly....

Any funny stoned stories to entertain us with on a Friday afternoon?

All my friends used to use it. It never really interested me. When I was young I decided that I didn't want to take part in any sort of drugs, so thats how it is.

I won't condem others for doing it though, as its their own personal choice. But if you need to do things like that to have fun etc, then there is something wrong!

Yup use/used to use marijuana. Ive had too many stories to remember or name them all. ive probably had the same stories as everyone else whos used it so ill just mention my first time

First time i did it was at school in year 12....went for a wander down the street with my mate...i had a rollie...didnt do anything i thought...so i had another really packed one...then about 5 minutes later halfway to school it started. Felt like ants on my brain...then i threw up....then i started laughing and giggling, and literally did not stop for 4 hours Everyone in my grade sorta realised. Except the teachers funnily enough. Ended up going to the sickroom for an hour just so no teachers would see my eyes. That was a really big first time too. Lasted a good 5-6 hours. Then got a massive headache!

I think everyone that uses it can have fun without it. But its a different sort of 'fun'.

Its the same thing as people who get drunk on weekends. Im sure they can have fun without alcohol...but its a different sort of fun to have when your drunk/stoned/high.

Yes, but when you get drunk EVERY weekend, then It cant say much for having fun without getting drunk.

I have talked to people and they are im bored so they go and drink just to have fun. If they cant do that without alcohol or drugs .. then ...

Anyways its all good, I respect it as long as you can do both, just that some people can't, which kind of makes it sad in a way I guess.

Well there are some people out in the world who abuse things like alcohol or weed or harsher drugs. And that is a sad thing, cos it ruins and gives the people who do it all sensibly or in moderation a bad name

A friend of mine and I got stoned before a High School Football game. I didn't like it.

I was the captain of our defense. It was my job to call the plays and give instructions to the Corners and outside Linebackers. I couldn't remember any of the plays, so I didn't call any. I just kept telling everyone to kick ass. At no time did I ever have a clue what the down & yardage was (or anything else about our tactical situation for that matter) I would ask, someone would tell me, and I would instantly forget.

Everyone was speaking English, but once a word got about three back, I would forget it. Everything just ended up sounding Greek. That's the best I could describe it. I couldn't see the stands or even most of the field. However, I was able to focus on the ball with an almost super-human clarity.

I had a great game. I just followed the ball. Got lots of tackles and a couple of sacks. I missed an interception. I still remeber this. I saw the ball coming at me. Part of me knew the significance of the ball coming at me. It seemed like it was slow motion. My mind kept forgetting that I could/should catch the ball. The ball hit me in the chest, and fell to the field. Incompletion, but I could have had a pick and possible TD.

I walked back to form a huddle and no one was there. It had been third and long. We stopped them. I didn't know that. The offense was coming out on the field. I ran off to the sideline. The coach said, "Your having a great game Mooster (Yes, that's my name) but you need to pull your head out of your ass."

That was the last of that. Haven't tried it since. I prefer relaxing with a good beer. Nice & legal, and I always buy quality beer.

I'm quite offended that this topic has been posted.

There are children here who should not have to face such despicable topics.

Because children should never be educated on drugs - they should just be told that they are BAD.

You can die you know if you smoke marijuana.

People who smoke it deserve to go to jail with all the murderers and rapists. They're all bad people.

But alcohol is ok though because it's not a "DRUG." Alcohol can be bought in pubs and clubs. Therefore, it must be better for you than marijuana, because marijuana is ILLEGAL. It's illegal because apparently, society decided that it was for the best. So it must be for the best.

Besides, prolonged marijuana use leads to insanity! Everybody who uses it will die! Although then again, those who don't use it will die also, but that's not the point!

If you use drugs, you are a lesser person than I am. You will got to hell when you die.

I must say though that if you use marijuana, then that is your choice, and your responsibility.

Just as it's your responsibility when i shoot you with my shotgun when you break into my house.

Well it won't be funny for you when YOUR house gets broken into.

There's is no such thing as "responsible drug use." That's the reason there has never been any famous, or successful drug users.

Drugs are bad. Mmm'kay?

Mooster - i take it you've only smoked once? You sound like the sort of person who would actually get something out of it if you were to have the occasional smoke.

You also sound like you were incredibly off your face that day at the football.

Being too stoned (as you were) is just as bad as being too drunk. I wouldn't judge marijuana like that.

It would be like downing 10 drinks in half an hour, throwing up, and then saying "i don't like alcohol."

You definately sound like the sort of person who would enjoy a nice relaxing joint at night. I think you should try again. And don't smoke as much this time.

Nice preemptive strike. You managed to summarize quite a few of the anti-drug arguments which were presented in the X thread a month or so back. That should prevent that discussion from taking place again.

No thanks, I don't believe I want to smoke anything. I try to keep my lungs pink and take my chances with the liver. Besides, if I was found in possession of that crap, I would lose my ambulance license, firefighter certificate and I would have to take a job which involves...work.

It was an interesting time being stoned like that, but nothing I would try to recapture. I dont' regret having tried it. I was a teeny. I also did a lot of sex and beer in those days. And THOSE are two wild cards I will always keep in my deck.

I know all the words but I can't put them together to mean something.

I wanted to hear different opinions, and for a non-user, yours is the most coherent (compared to the knee-jerk sensationalism of the X post).

I've smoked mull a few times, never to a great level of stoned-ness.

I also took some pills once in Amsterdam which I had no idea what they were. That was a very interesting night

I've smoked the odd joint with my mates. Probably 15 - 20 times in the last 12 years.

I have always smoked in company I enjoyed, and I've always had a good time.

However, there is no doubt that excessive use - just like alcohol - causes problems. I've seen it in plenty of people.

I have no doubt it triggers schizophrenia. Talk to any psych nurse and you will be told that this is undeniable.

I'm not going to stop doing it once or twice a year, because like I said, I have always enjoyed it, and I know I can control my intake.

I just don't like it when people who are pro-dope say it doesn't do any harm. It definitely can.

Hey, that's cool. Although i do object to you calling it "crap" - i feel that beer falls under that description much more than marijuana does.
