Hardwick said prior to round one that Tuck would be in around rounds 3-4-5 when the game starts to slow down a fraction.

How many times does it have to be said? Enough is enough. He'll be in this week or next you'd assume based on those comments.

So hardwick knows the game is going to slow down?

Tuck should of been playing from round 1.

No he shouldn't have been, you aren't the Coach you aren't on the MC and you know nothing that's going on behind closed doors.

When the COACH want's Tuck into the side he will come in, until then harden up and stop bitching about every little thing.

All i know every time Tuck plays i see a man that leaves nothing. Has the runs on the board and deserves more than what he is receiving imo.

:thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

this nonsense has gone on long enough, it has happened for the last couple of years and blimey im gonna kill dimma if he doesnt bring him in this week
what i hate is that people are getting cheap games and there is no bloody competition

So please then tell us who does he replace within the team that is currently playing his role.

Real smart move to leave out the bloke who has dragged us over the line for years in the wet, apparently the selection committee slept through the Port game at AAMI last year.

Here we are in rd.3 with 2 points and our confidence in shreds when by playing Tuck we should have 8 points from the first two and at least a much more competitive effort tonight. In fairness, the 'no Tuck' policy is working better than it did when it was last year's coaching masterstroke - we have 2 points instead of none. :thumbsu:

Changes have to be made immediately. Shirking the issue is like a cancer and has to be cut out. Connors and Morton have to play at Coburg for a month and see if they want to play for the RFC. Put Miller in at CHF to give us structure until Griffiths is available. Graham was good for half a season last year but is not performing so far. Derrichx or Browne to come in. Tuck and Thursfield to come in as we are playing the Pies this week and we need hard bodies and we have to know now whether they are going to be there in the future. If we put up another performance like we did tonight there will be a dramatic downward spiral of crowds and any enthusiasm that Benny Gale is trying to generate will evaporate.

Everyone brings in something different so its not as if he is replacing someones role. I have seen tuck win games with his clearances so how is that for a start.

Neither of these posts have answered my question, who do we take out that is playing Tucks role so we can bring him back in.

Dimma said in a recent article that for Tuck to come in he would have to replace Foley, Martin or Cotchin so who do we take out, out of these 3 guys to bring him in.

Im sure i heard malthouse say he has 10 - 12 options running through the midfield, so im sure tuck can play a within those 3.
Who to drop besides those lads?
Take your pick.

yaaaaaaawn:rolleyes:
dimma wants to polish up some of tucks deficiencies and get games into the young cubs. he dosnt give a rats arse about rounds 1-6 which is irrelevent to his long term plans - i dont like seeing tuck running around in the 2's either
but thats the way it is, like it or lump it.

Besides Luke Ball, who are there other genuine in and under mids.

Why would you want Tuck in? We have Jackson and Grigg. We'll be even less skilled and composed with Tuck. Our midfield is doing fine. Let them learn

we need TUCK in coz some of the kids are copping a bloody hiding and are being carried beyond the pale. Conca or Helbig, astbury take your pick need to be high tailed back to ressies as we shape the structure of the senior team with a suitable mix of experience and youth to strike a winning combination. until they do , I can't be bothered turning up

The team needs an experienced veteran in, to balance the side, and show leadership and composure. How many times early in the 3rd qtr against hawthorn did we go forward only to have the ball bounce straight back out? With less nerves and stronger morale we would have converted our chances much more effectively.

Newman can't carry 17 other players...

As an outsider, Tuck must play.

He is to you guys what Jude Bolton is to the Swans.

Every season he ranks in the top couple in clearances and contested ball. Considering the game's trend in having to win the contested ball, it makes no sense that your best ball winner is not even considered for selection against 3 sides thus far that have very strong bodies in the midfield.

He protects the rest of your slightly built mids too. His kicking around the ground may not be great but generally his kicking for goal is quite good.

It's gone on long enough, he has to play against us this week.

Just my thoughts.

Because Grigg was soft as going into contests last night, whereas Tuck is not, and his skills are just as good. We needed the extra grunt in the centre and around the ball, and Tuck always goes hard at it, something we lacked last night.

As for the midfield learning, thats fine so long theres players to learn from. Who are the rookies going to learn from? Cotchin? He's still learning himself. Foley was our most experienced midfielder and he cant teach everything he knows to the younger kids. Tuck is invaluable to Conca, Helbig and even Martin who still has a lot to learn.

As we are playing the pies next week and wont win It wouldnt surprise me we dont make any changes and the kids will gain experience up against the best. The week after we play the roos. Mcquane and rance will be elligable to come back and would think a good game to bring tuck back in as it will be our most winnerble game so far

Apparently Jacko is being asked to play more of an inside mid, which the position Tuck is best at. Whilst Tuck is a far better ball extractor than Jacko, Jacko has him covered for speed, endurance, and defensive mindset. Tuck would have him covered for overhead marking.
Martin also the hard inside ball winner. Having 3 play the role is probably just too many. Tuck is there as an insurance policy. I think he'll get a run, but just used to balance the load on other players, to make sure there's no big drop off towards the end of the season.

Slight difference in quality between Tuck and Fletcher, if thats what you comparing.
If you want to take that to the extreme, theres a heap of players that may as well just retire right now, ie Brown at Brissie for one.
