gee i don't know, working as a deckhand octopus fishing is a sure fire bread winner, u cant give up dreams like those... maybe once the babies r reared he can pursue that... gotta put the kids thru college somehow

Well the time in leiu package that comes with fishing octopus was the real seller kid... Apparently instead of measuring it against time, its measured against tentacle.. Just hope there is a giant octopus down there, cause that would be pay dirt..

r u suggesting that pay is determined not on hours but on a performance based, per tentacle per kilo arrangement? thats gold! what am i doing wasting my time at uni getting a degree for?

But you couldn't be anymore wrong, its just that octopussing is such a technical job, you need to have a degree to do it, some of the smartest people are octopussers.. ahahah stop!! When Ablett fills out forms and it says OCCUPATION:Octopusser...

Tomsut i dont think you should be posting about my relationship when you have stated yourself that your missus has to play where you do. Pot calling the kettle black i think. Think your missus would line up alright on a back flank with her chiselled jaw!!!

And as for 'octopussing' could be a real show before December i think!!!

Who is taking over the reigns next year, or who will help Downsy with the big job of resurrecting the Turtle name to its once big stature within the student fraternity....

My predictions:

President: Downsy
Other Committee men: Stew, Jas, Burna, Boodz ????
 
yes its good to see downsy being proactive about sponsorship/alliances/membership recruitment for next year. the more that helps out next year the merrier guys, cos with the situation UBSA is facing its gonna be tough times... but if we get things going well, the rewards will be there
 
To all true Turtle fans,

as most of u will be aware, our major sponsor, the famous Rattle 'n' Hum nightclub will be closing forever in a matter of weeks.

Over the journey there have been so many wonderful hazy memories and classic tales to come out of the Old Girl, and i know we're all gonna miss her terribly. It is only fitting that this occasion be marked by the gathering of Turtles together in The Cove for one more big session, after Ballarat Cup, to do what Turtles do best at Rattle...drink copius amounts of booze and get loose as... we need to give Turtle Cove the send off it so rightly deserves...

perhaps this can be the place where grievers such as myself can reminisce about the wednesday night insitution that was Rattle 'n' Hum, and we can look back on some of the many glorious moments that made Rattle the place to be...
 
What???? go old rattler is closing down??? so many memories....can i ask u the kid, or big tomsut, and maybe ablett, can u please poor a beer for me as they use to be poored by YKI back in the day as i am unfortunately not going to be able to make it....do the turtles proud boys and make sure all jocks, g-strings and the like are ripped off and placed above the bar near turtle cove...

Time to reflect on what Rattle has given us over the years.
Top moments lads???

1. Jock Ripping/10c pot night (Definite #1)
HAHAHA. Little 9 finger and myself behind the bar, plenty of Turtle socks filled with 10 c pieces, All underwear displayed above bar, Stuffa smashing blokes in the head for riping his off etc
2. Drinking the fridges from top to bottom shelf
3. Painting Turtle Cove Green

Tis a sad chapter in the in the Green Turtle Hanbook..:(

Other classic nights would include, drink a t-shirt, wear markers were used to sign more **** than cross of sqares on shirts.

How could anyone forget the formulation and application of the bourban pyramid.. One of the better inventions of the BAS, who which out of popularity, caused the ABS to form..

Classic Mystery shouts that ended in yelling at the bar person, " i dont give $#@$ just make it"

If you left with your jocks on, or didn't break a till, or pour yourself drinks and claim innoncence you hadn't had a turtle crack..

BAS is no longer yet the ABC is still thriving.
Thankyou must go to big Gunna and myself for being co founders of the ABC after we got sharfted with the BAS.
Think I still hold the record for being the last person in the pyramid and having to buy a record number of drinks = 15!! Not to recieve another drink beacuse of the pyramid by laws.......
 
I think we all know who has spent the most time there out of all the Turtles (apart from BT) and that is the great man Dall Byars.
I would like to see what he could add to this thread including: O week shenanigans, Turtle arrogance etc.
Turtle15, I am sure you have some fine stories to tell also!!!???

As much as its an honour to be a turtle.. Some turtles aren't all professional students such as the great men you talk of!
Seriously though, next year surely has to be the last Kid :eek:
