Is it a round 1 thing or have channel 7 got more cameras? Never noticed cameras up in level 4 of the mcc b4?View attachment 1633708
Those two cameras are what gets shown on the scoreboards. Both the G and Marvel have thier own cameras for general play.

On the MCG scoreboards:

The same bottom graphic comes up at Marvel as well.

The G has also adapted the Marvel style presentation on the screens around the ground

The logo setup as normally seen on ch.504 and sometimes ch.503 for comparison

wonder what the in ground scoreboard graphics will be like for gather round this week if they use the afl score graphics they use at the mcg and marvel or have a special gather round set....

1 thing I can’t help feel that channel 7 doing the pre game from the desk on the ground while players are warming up and the style of the scoreboard production with the disappearing score graphic really gives off home test vibes 😂

As a Hawks fan only went to marvel for the first time today this season and don’t know if it’s just a dogs thing aswell but have the got better at utilising the bigger display now that they are into the second season of it…?

What else can they do if the broadcaster doesn't even film in 32:9?

Put the same thing on the screen twice?

I don't think what they do at Marvel (or Optus and Subiaco before it, for that matter) is that bad. Maybe they could put rolling stats instead of the static ads though.

Now this is bad screen use.

It's actually pretty good at the venue - if you're sitting off-axis you should still have a clear view of one of the screens. Don't forget that it's curved - if you're sitting in-front of the screen and want to be able to see a replay, you can normally still see one of them.

It's 12:1 aspect ratio - not much you can do except repeat

What the hell is Sam on about? Docklands has never used the broadcast feed for the main screen; the stadium has dedicated cameras on Level 3 just like the MCG does. They could've cropped it to 24:9 last year just like they're doing this year, but it was all about ad space. Presumably they changed it due to complaints from the clubs. The TV screens around the ground still use a 16:9 output, so they can't do anything but crop it anyway.
