Tversity for PS3

Does anyone use this? I had it working for a while but now my PS3 refuses to detect the server. The only reason I can seem to find is that the UPnP thing on the PS3 says its not available. NAT type is 2 which is apparently recommended so no problems there I guess. Have no idea besides this though...so any help will be great. Thanks.

And if someone has an alternative to Tversity for streaming media from my PC to PS3..that would probably be better. As long as I can get this working again -_-

I'm not too sure either sorry mate. My UPnP says Not Available and NAT Type is Type 2 also, and TVersity is working for me.

If you use one, could it be your firewall perhaps?

Another option is Windows Media Player 11. From memory, I didn't get that one working myself (tried it before TVersity), but I've seen that others have.

If you want to check out any other settings (on the PS3 or TVersity or anything else), let me know and I'll check what mine are. I don't know much about the technical side of this stuff, so can't help with much more than that I'm afraid.

Make sure that Tversity is open or try restarting your PC and booting it up again.

Yeah I've seen that link, didn't help. Thanks though. I've tried Windows Media Player and that does work, although I'd rather not use that, never really liked it for some reason. Nero MediaHome is a pretty good alternative tho, if you have it...luckily it was pre-installed on my comp

haven't used it much yet, but so far I reckon this is better than TVersity. Unlike TVersity (I think? - they weren't working for me anyway), it works with mkv (can finally watch some AFL ) and also movies with separate subtitle files

Another little thing it does which tversity doesn't, is for videos it creates a thumbnail, or will use a cover image if you have them in jpg or png format.

Haven't tried it for music stuff yet, so don't know what that's like, and no idea how it compares to Nero MediaHome either - will have to try that out sometime too.

Good find Got a fair few mkv files that I can't play through Nero atm. Will try it out now.
